About HidroFaunaSilvestre

HidroFaunaSilvestre brings together five digital guides on the wildlife of the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico—mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and freshwater fish—in a single application. It is intended for naturalists, students, teachers, environmental technicians, and the general public who wish to consult organized taxonomic lists, inclusion criteria in regional catalogs, and supporting visual and textual materials.

In the main menu, you select the module you need. Each guide maintains its own species list, search options, and filters according to the group (for example, order and family, habitat, conservation categories, or other tags available in that catalog). The fact sheets display photographs when images are accessible from open sources and offer contextual links to services such as iNaturalist, GBIF, and Wikipedia or Wikimedia. For birds, songs can be linked via Xeno-canto when available. For fish and other groups, references to FishBase, CONABIO, specialized literature, or academic repositories may be included, depending on the fact sheet. The lists are based on bibliographic references and recognized listing criteria for the entity (mammothology, ornithology, herpetology, and freshwater ichthyology).

The application includes a help screen with navigation instructions: how to open each guide, how to return to the main menu, and what type of content and links each module includes. Where the guide allows, it is possible to download images for offline consultation, useful in the field or with limited connectivity.

HidroFaunaSilvestre is a dissemination and reference tool; it does not replace regulations, official opinions, or legal species identification in regulatory contexts. Access to external links depends on the internet and the conditions of each site.
