About Bloclog: Track your climbing

Bloclog is a climbing logbook for iPhone and Apple Watch. Log boulders and routes at the gym or outdoors, record the grade and result of every climb, and follow your progress over time. No account. Works offline. No ads, no analytics. No subscription. LOG YOUR CLIMBING • On iPhone or Apple Watch, with automatic height detection or by entering the height manually • Advanced logging (free) allows you to log the style of the climb (wall angle, type of hold) • Link attempts of the same problem together, allowing you to compare them and better assess your progress • Document your thoughts on climbs with a voice note directly from your Apple Watch (automatically transcribes into style of climb as well) • On Apple Watch only: automatic detection of climb start time, based on barometer, motion sensors and machine learning SEE WHERE YOU'RE IMPROVING • Bloclog provides a variety of metrics to see how you are progressing: • Climbing level: the grade you send about half the time, and how it is moved by each session (uses a Whole-History Rating fit of a Bradley–Terry logistic model) • Sends, attempts and send rate for every grade • Grade pyramid, hardest sends and how often you climb • Monthly and yearly recaps, ready to share as images • Every try on a project on one chart, from the first fall to the send EVERY STYLE, EVERY GRADE SYSTEM • Bouldering, top rope, sport, trad, multi-pitch, deep-water solo and free solo • V-scale, Font, French, UIAA, YDS, British, Ewbank, Saxon, Kurtyka, Nordic and Brazilian, or your own custom scale, such as your gym's hold colours • A Font 7A stays a Font 7A. Bloclog never converts your grades. • Save your gyms and crags, and add notes, wall angle, ascent style and effort to any climb WORKS WITH THE APPLE ECOSYSTEM • Climbing workouts in Apple Health, with heart rate and active energy (optional) • iCloud sync and backup (optional) • Widgets, Live Activities, Watch complications, Siri and Shortcuts • Import from other climbing apps and Garmin FIT files, export to CSV or JSON BLOCLOG PRO A one-time purchase, no subscription. Pro adds rest analysis, insights, tries compared by time on the wall, rest and heart rate, your level in every grading system, progress for all time and unlimited custom grades. Recording, the logbook, sync and export stay free. Height is estimated from air pressure, so accuracy depends on your device. The iPad app shows your logbook; sessions are recorded on iPhone or Apple Watch.

What’s new

Version 1.1.0 · Updated October 23, 2026

• New session screen on iPhone: swipe between Now, Log and Climbs, as on Apple Watch. Pick the grade, in your gym's hold colours if your scale has them, and tap how it went. Every result has its own button, and Undo is right on the climb. • Tries of one climb: another go at the same grade after a fall is logged as Try 2, Try 3 and so on, and counts partly together for your level. Tap Unlink tries if it was a different climb. After a session, see each climb's tries together and compare how high each one went. • Wall angle: tap slab, vertical, overhang or roof as you log. On Apple Watch, Advanced logging adds a wall-angle step after each climb and voice notes, which your iPhone turns into text and style tags. Same as last logs another go on the climb before. • Apple Watch has a grading system button on its start screen and uses less battery during a session. • Leave your iPhone on the ground? Turn off Altitude assistance, and each climb you top counts the wall height you pick, so your height total still adds up. • Progress and recaps show your time on the wall. • After a session, the review points out unusual heights, climbs logged twice and sessions left running. • Imports can restore sessions you deleted, and long imports and exports carry on in the background. Bloclog Pro, a one-time purchase, adds rest analysis, insights, tries compared by time on the wall, rest and heart rate, your level in every grading system, progress for all time and unlimited custom grades. Recording, the logbook, sync and export stay free.
