A word search is a classroom classic, and for a good reason: to find a word, a child has to hold its spelling in mind and check every letter in order. Do that with this week's spelling words and it becomes real revision that children ask to do again. Every word comes with a picture and a translation (Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean). THREE KINDS OF CLUE • Word — the classic puzzle, for meeting new words. • Picture / Meaning — the word is hidden; your child recalls the spelling before searching. This is what turns the game into practice. • Listen — the word is read aloud, closest to a spelling test. DIFFICULTY THAT FITS THE CHILD Easy 8×8 (across and down), Medium 10×10 (with diagonals), Hard 12×12 (all eight directions, decoy letters) — or set your own grid from 6×6 to 15×15 and choose exactly which directions are allowed. DRAG OR TAP Drag a line through the letters, or switch to Tap mode for younger children: tap each letter in turn, tap again to undo, no misses counted. Found words are read aloud and lock in colour. STARS, STREAKS AND MASTERY One to three stars per puzzle, a practice calendar, and a per-word record: a word counts as mastered after three finds without a hint, so you can see exactly which words still need a look before Friday.
