Little Wordsmiths is a picture dictionary and thesaurus for children ages 2 to 8, with a short daily trail that ties it all together. A DICTIONARY THEY CAN HEAR Over 4,000 words, each on its own page: a picture, the spoken word, a child-friendly meaning and an example sentence. A word with more than one meaning shows each meaning as its own little picture: tap one and the whole page follows that meaning. Explore by topic, by letter, or search. A THESAURUS, BUILT IN Every word page shows words that mean the same, words that mean the opposite, the plural and other words that come from it, as small picture cards. One tap opens the next word and leads back again. WORDS IN 26 LANGUAGES Every word in English and 25 more languages, each with its own voice. Each language shows the word, its meaning and a sentence, and every line can be heard, so a family can share a word in the language they speak at home. The app's screens come in 25 languages, right to left for Arabic, Urdu, Persian and Hebrew too. In English, pick American, Canadian or British spelling. FOR THE YOUNGEST At 2 and 3, a grown-up opens the word pages with the child: look, listen and say it together. SHAPES IN 3D Pick up a shape, spin it, and count its faces, edges and corners. MATH THAT SHOWS THE WAY Every math game starts with an example: Sky does one first, then it's your child's turn. A wrong try replays slowly with your child's own numbers. Count, add and share with hands-on tools. ONE TRAIL A DAY Each day Sky the owl lays out a few stops picked for your child: new words, a letter and its sound, a little math, a shape, a sentence. The trail opens one stop at a time, and then the day ends. No endless feed, no timers, no hearts to lose. WORDS THAT COME BACK "Do you remember?" brings words back days later, because remembering after a gap is what makes a word stick. Every answer can be heard. A soft spotlight shows which thing the word names, and a missed word brings its meaning, then a sentence.
