About OpenDeck DJ

OpenDeck DJ turns your iPhone or iPad into a single-deck DJ player modeled on a professional club media player: a large jog wheel with a spinning platter display, a tempo fader, transport controls, a zoomable waveform, hot cues, beat loops, and automatic BPM and beat-grid analysis. BRING YOUR OWN MUSIC Drop MP3, AAC/M4A, WAV, AIFF, FLAC or OGG files into the OpenDeck DJ folder in the Files app (On My iPhone / On My iPad → OpenDeck DJ), or from a Mac via Finder, and browse them from the deck's BROWSE screen. A demo track is included so you can try everything straight away. ON IPHONE AND IPAD On an iPad the whole deck is on one screen. On an iPhone it is two landscape pages: the player's screen, and the controls (jog wheel, tempo fader, transport, loops) with the beat meter and BPM in view. Flip between them with the page button or a two-finger swipe. PLAY ALONGSIDE THE CLUB STANDARD OpenDeck DJ speaks Pro DJ Link. On a local network it appears as another player next to CDJ/XDJ decks: it can follow the shared tempo and beat grid with SYNC, or take MASTER and lead. It also shares its music: other players list it in their LINK menu and can browse and load its tracks, with BPM, beat grid and waveforms. Link hardware is optional — the app is a complete standalone player on its own. FEATURES • Jog wheel with vinyl (scratch) and nudge modes and a live centre display • Tempo fader with ±6 / ±10 / ±16 / WIDE ranges and MASTER TEMPO key lock • CUE with AUTO CUE, hot cues A–D, memory points, beat loops from 1/2 to 16 and SLIP • Zoomable waveform with beat and bar markers, full-track overview and needle search • Automatic BPM and beat-grid analysis, with GRID ADJUST (snap, shift, reset) • QUANTIZE so cues and loops land on the beat • Pro DJ Link: SYNC, MASTER, beat and phase meter, LINK browsing of other players' media, and serving your own to them • TAG LIST, track INFO and a UTILITY menu (player number, tempo range, quantize, auto-cue level) • Runs entirely on-device: no account, no sign-in, no analytics OpenDeck DJ is an independent open-source project. What’s new

Version 0.2.9 · Updated September 23, 2026

Tighter transport, smoother Link, and a draggable waveform. CUE and PLAY act the instant your finger lands. Hold CUE to preview, hit PLAY with another finger to lock playback in, and release in either order. Pause, then press CUE, to set the cue where you stopped. Drag the big waveform to move through the track, at any zoom. Link is steadier: the other deck's beat meter runs smoothly over Wi-Fi, a deck that vanishes is forgotten so MASTER can be taken again, and the app recovers its network after sitting in the background. INFO shows your Link address and the players heard. On iPhone, turning the BROWSE knob no longer opens Control Center, and the deck starts paused at the cue.
