About MasalaMetrics

Logging Indian food in a calorie app is miserable. The database has one generic entry for "chicken curry" and nothing for the way you actually cook it. There's no weight for a katori of dal, no way to say the roti was made with ghee, and nothing at all for half the regional dishes you eat every week. So you guess, get it wrong, and stop logging by Thursday. MasalaMetrics reads the plate instead. WHAT IT DOES Scan to log Photograph a meal and get a nutrition breakdown in seconds — item by item, so a thali comes back as its separate components rather than one lump. Check the estimate, fix the portion if it's off, save. Takes about as long as washing your hands before you eat. Built for how this food is actually served Mixed gravies, shared serving bowls, rice-and-curry combinations, a stack of rotis for the table. The app is built around meals like these, not around a single grilled chicken breast on a plate. A target built for your body Enter age, gender, height, weight and how active you are. MasalaMetrics calculates your daily energy and macronutrient targets using standard nutrition formulas, rather than handing everyone the same number. Balance, not just intake With your permission, MasalaMetrics reads active energy and workouts from Apple Health, so your remaining calories reflect what you actually burned that day. Log meals back to Health as dietary energy if you want your other apps to see them. Your history, kept Meals sync to your account, so a new phone doesn't mean starting over. Review any day, see how the week trended, and notice the patterns you'd otherwise miss. PRIVACY Your body profile stays on your device. Age, gender, height, weight, activity level and your calculated targets are stored on your iPhone and never sent to us. Health data stays on your device. Data read from Apple Health is processed locally, never uploaded to our servers, and never used for advertising or marketing. Your food log syncs to your account so you keep it across devices, readable only by you. Delete your account from Settings at any time and your history goes with it. IMPORTANT MasalaMetrics is a general wellness and food tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Nutrition figures produced from a photograph are estimates and can be wrong — do not rely on them for insulin dosing, allergen avoidance, or any decision where accuracy matters clinically. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet. Requires an account to save meals. Apple Health access is optional.
