Tapely does two things about it. It shows you when the reading can be trusted, and when it can't, it says which problem you have. Moving too fast and aiming at a blank wall are opposite faults with opposite fixes, and being told to slow down when the real trouble is a bare white wall helps nobody. And it lets you fix the rest. Measure a bank card, a dollar bill or a sheet of paper once, all of them are made to an exact standard, and Tapely works out how far off your iPhone runs and corrects every reading from then on.
