Animatya - Animation Creator

Animatya is a frame-by-frame animation app for iPad and Apple Pencil. It is built for people who want to draw animation the traditional way: one drawing at a time, timed on an exposure sheet. DRAWING Native Apple Pencil support with pressure, tilt and palm rejection. 14 brush presets over pen, pencil, marker, airbrush, watercolor and crayon engines. Stroke smoothing and a hold-to-snap straight line. Lasso, eraser, saved color palette, eyedropper with a pixel loupe. The desk extends past the paper, so construction lines and perspective guides can live outside the frame. TIMING Each drawing has a hold: keep it on screen for 1 to 99 frames instead of copying it. Every layer has its own timing, so a character on twos can sit over a background held for the whole shot. Retime a selection or a layer: ones, twos, threes, time stretch, reverse, ping-pong, roll up and down. Layers can hold, loop or ping-pong after their last drawing. ONION SKIN Up to 6 drawings before and after, red for previous, green for next, opacity that falls off with distance. Ghosts follow drawings, not frames, so long holds never show duplicates. Shift and trace for checking inbetweens. LAYERS AND REFERENCE Unlimited layers with opacity, blend modes, clipping masks, merge down and merge visible. Import a photo as a dimmed reference layer, or a video for rotoscoping. Add an audio track and scrub it in the timeline. CAMERA A camera with position, zoom and rotation keys, eased moves, safe areas and aspect presets from 16:9 to 2.39. Playback and export go through the camera. PLAYBACK AND EXPORT Real-time playback at 6 to 60 fps with audio in sync, preview speed from 25 to 200 percent. Export to MP4, HEVC with alpha, ProRes, GIF, a single PNG, a PNG sequence with alpha, or an OCA folder for Krita, TVPaint and Blender. STAYS OUT OF THE WAY Autosave on every edit. Undo across frames: undoing a stroke made three frames ago takes you back to that frame. Keyboard shortcuts for a connected keyboard. Projects can be exported as a single file and opened on another iPad. Animatya works fully offline and does not collect data. Requires iPadOS 17 or later. Apple Pencil is recommended but not required.
