Smelter

Know what to weigh before you melt. Smelter brings jewelry calculations, material references and practical learning together in one workshop app for iPhone and iPad. Prepare a gold alloy, adjust purity, plan a casting or make use of precious-metal scrap. Get clear results for the job in front of you, whether you work at the bench, teach jewelry making or are learning your craft. ALLOYS, PURITY AND SCRAP Calculate alloy proportions, raise or lower fineness, and find the fine-metal content of a batch. Work with gold, silver, platinum and palladium, combine scrap, and save useful alloy recipes. CASTING AND BENCH TOOLS Estimate metal weight from a wax model, convert between weight and volume using density, and calculate ring-blank dimensions and stock weights. Ring-sizing tools, investment mix calculations and unit converters keep everyday workshop calculations together. MATERIALS LAB AND ACADEMY Compare materials and their properties, consult reference densities, and create custom profiles using supplier data or your own measurements. Explore structured lessons and interactive exercises on alloys, purity, casting and workshop practice. KEEP THE JOB, NOT JUST THE ANSWER Save calculations, notes, measured weights and results in the Bench Log. Return to previous batches and keep your workshop records in sync with iCloud.
