About Klavia - Learn to Play Piano

Sheet music that waits for you. Bring in a PDF or MusicXML file, or pick a classical piece from the free Klavia Library. Klavia turns it into a score you can hear, slow down, loop and practise against. Play the right key and the music moves on. Play a wrong one and it simply waits. PRACTISE THE WAY YOU LEARN - Wait mode: the next note is marked and the music holds until you play it. No rushing, no guessing. - Three views: the score, falling notes over a keyboard, or Hint mode. - NEW - Hint mode: one line of music over a keyboard on the same screen. Miss a note twice and the right key lights up, so you learn where the notes sit on the keys as well as on the page. - Play from memory: switch off the next-note marker and Hint mode still lights the right key after two wrong tries. MAKE HARD PASSAGES EASY - Loop the bars you keep missing: drag the handles over the score, the falling notes or the Hint line. - One hand at a time, or both together. The other hand stays faded on the score. - Any tempo, with metronome and count-in. Start slow, speed up when it flows. - Note names on the notes while you are learning the staff. - Landscape "One line" layout: the music scrolls sideways and keeps the clef and key signature in view. FINGERING, WORKED OUT - Smart fingering (Premium) adds finger numbers 1-5 to the music you import, so you never guess which finger starts the run. - Built-in finger practice: 48 scales, 13 arpeggios and 20 finger-independence studies, each with a target tempo and fingering printed on it. KLAVIA LIBRARY: CLASSICAL MUSIC, READY TO PLAY Public-domain pieces, many in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced arrangements so you can start at your own level. Tap a piece to add it to your scores. New pieces are added gradually. BEST WITH A MIDI KEYBOARD Connect a MIDI keyboard by USB, Bluetooth or network and Klavia hears every note exactly, including chords and fast passages. With an acoustic piano you can use the microphone instead. It works well for single notes; several notes at once are harder to detect, so some chords may be missed. We keep improving it, but for the most accurate results use MIDI. WHAT WORKS BEST Klavia reads MusicXML most accurately, and PDFs exported from notation software such as MuseScore, Finale or flat.io. Scans and photographs of printed music are not supported. WHAT'S FREE - 2 PDF conversions, 2 MusicXML uploads and 2 pieces from the Klavia Library - All scales and arpeggio exercises, plus the first finger-independence exercise - Note names, falling notes, Hint mode, looping, metronome, hands-separate practice, MIDI and microphone practice KLAVIA PREMIUM - Unlimited PDF conversions, MusicXML uploads and Klavia Library downloads - Every Premium arrangement in the Klavia Library - Keep as many songs as you like, all open - Smart fingering on the music you import - Transpose to any key - All 20 finger-independence drills If Premium ends, nothing is deleted. The free plan keeps your 2 most recently played songs of each kind (Klavia Library, PDF, MusicXML) open, and the rest unlock again when you subscribe. Klavia Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, available monthly or yearly. The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers, with 10 PDF conversions during the trial. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. Works on iPhone and iPad. Your library is stored on your device. PDFs are sent to our server only to be converted, then deleted.
