About Officium: 1962 Roman Breviary

The traditional Roman Breviary (1962), beautifully typeset, Latin and English side by side, correct for every day — offline. Officium gives you the Divine Office as prayed for centuries in the Roman Rite, according to the 1962 typical edition (Rubrics of 1960) — the office that accompanies the Traditional Latin Mass. • THE CORRECT OFFICE, EVERY DAY — open the app and today's hour is ready: feasts, commemorations, seasonal antiphons and collects, all resolved for you. The complete liturgical calendar for 2026–2035 is built in. • LATIN & ENGLISH, SIDE BY SIDE — the Clementine psalter with traditional liturgical pointing beside English, verse by verse, with the Latin on the left or on the right. Modern CPDV English is the default, and the traditional Douay-Rheims remains selectable. Or read in either language alone. • SET LIKE A PRINTED BREVIARY — red rubrics and titles, the real ℣ and ℟ signs and a classic typeface on a cream page; the card layout of earlier versions remains one setting away. • FOUR LANGUAGES — the whole app also prays in Brazilian Portuguese, Latin-American Spanish and French, each beside the Latin. The French psalms and Scripture follow Glaire's classic public-domain translation wherever the edition supplies them; the Portuguese and Spanish are based on the public-domain translations of Figueiredo (Lisbon 1885) and Torres Amat (1823–25 and later printings), revised against the Latin of the breviary. Everything else is translated from the Latin by the project. • ALL EIGHT HOURS — the complete daily cursus: Matins, Lauds, Prime, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers and Compline, including Matins' full nocturns, lessons and responsories for every day. • THE LITTLE OFFICE OF THE B.V.M. — the complete traditional lay office of Our Lady in its own tab: the same eight hours in miniature, with its seasonal antiphons and the Annunciation propers, verified day by day for 2026–2035. • LISTEN TO THE LITTLE OFFICE — every hour of the Little Office read aloud by a calm, steady voice, fully offline: verse-by-verse read-along highlighting, gentle auto-scroll, adjustable playback speed, and lock-screen controls. • THE MARIAN PRAYERS, FREE — the seasonal antiphon of Our Lady, the Angelus, the Ave Maria, the Memorare, the Sub tuum praesidium, the Flos Carmeli, the Litany of Loreto, the Fatima prayers, two Consecrations and the Holy Rosary with meditations, in Latin beside your language, at no cost. • COMPLINE FREE FOREVER — pray the Church's night prayer every day at no cost. • A TRADITIONAL ORDO — the calendar screen shows every day's celebration, class and liturgical color. • HOME & LOCK SCREEN WIDGETS — today's feast at a glance. • OFFLINE PRAYER & CALENDAR — no account, no ads, no tracking and no developer server. All prayer and calendar content is built in. Texts draw on public-domain editions, MIT-licensed source data, and documented project-original translations from the Latin where no suitable vernacular source exists (sources listed in the app). The daily structure is verified against the Divinum Officium project (Rubrics 1960). — Subscription — "Officium Premium" unlocks the remaining seven hours—including full Matins—and the complete Little Office of the B.V.M., by monthly or yearly subscription; the App Store shows the exact price for your country before purchase. A 2-week free trial is available to eligible new subscribers; Apple determines eligibility. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when an eligible trial ends (or at confirmation if no trial applies). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. What’s new

Version 1.4.0 · Updated October 7, 2026

New in 1.4.0: • The Marian prayers, free for everyone: the seasonal antiphon of Our Lady (today's marked), the Angelus, the Ave Maria, the Memorare, the Sub tuum praesidium, the Flos Carmeli, the Litany of Loreto, the Fatima prayers, two Consecrations and the Holy Rosary with a meditation for each mystery — in Latin beside your language, in the BVM tab beside the Little Office. • A printed page: the office set as a printed breviary sets it — red rubrics and titles, the real ℣ and ℟ signs, a classic typeface on a cream page. The card layout of earlier versions remains under Settings → Reading → Page style. • Your language on the left, if you prefer: the new "English · Latin" view, beside "Latin · English", Latin alone and English alone. • A clearer subscription page. When a free trial applies, it shows what happens on each day of the trial, and it can send a reminder two days before the trial ends. • Many corrections: the right antiphon of Our Lady at Compline on 25 April and on Christmas Eve, and the right hymn at Vespers before Passion Sunday; an hour open at midnight keeps its day; your place is kept when the app is closed; the read-aloud voice no longer reads the rubrics, and its highlighting follows the voice line by line; dates follow the Gregorian calendar on any device; a widget readable in dark mode; and a faster start. Officium prays in English, Brazilian Portuguese, Latin-American Spanish and French — the complete interface, the Roman office, the Little Office of the B.V.M. with its read-aloud audio, and the widgets.
