About Another Piano Tuner

You probably already own a piano tuning app. This might just be the one you actually keep. The Another Piano Tuner is a professional-grade tuning tool built for piano technicians — and for owners patient enough to tune their own — with one promise that the industry stopped making: buy once, and every future update is free. No subscriptions. No paid major-version upgrades. No keeping an old phone alive just because your tuning software won't move forward. ACCURACY FIRST The measurement engine resolves pitch to well under one cent across the entire keyboard, A0 to C8 — and has been verified note by note against precision-generated reference tones. Low bass fundamentals, weak high-treble partials, and hammer-strike noise are all handled by a hybrid time-domain/spectral detector built specifically for the piano. FREE — A COMPLETE TUNER • Full-keyboard note detection, A0–C8 • Cents deviation with a clear, steady meter • Turn direction guidance (clockwise / counter-clockwise) • Adjustable reference pitch A4 (430–446 Hz) • Ambient noise-floor calibration for noisy rooms • Works fully offline. The microphone signal is analyzed in real time, on device, and is never recorded or uploaded. PRO — ONE PURCHASE, YOURS FOREVER • Stretch tuning curve computed from your piano's own inharmonicity • Per-note B measurement — scan the whole keyboard automatically • Coverage map showing measured vs unmeasured notes • Note lock with a mute-and-tune, string-by-string unison workflow • Octave type selection: 2:1, 4:2, 6:3 BUILT FOR REAL PIANOS String counts per note (1, 2, or 3), bass transition, attack transients, false-beat-prone unisons — the app's workflow mirrors how technicians actually tune: mute, tune one string, match the unison by ear. RETIRE THE SECOND PHONE Many technicians keep an aging iPhone alive for one reason: their tuning software stopped moving forward. The Yet Another Piano Tuner always supports the current iOS, and major updates are free — so professional tuning finally belongs on the phone you actually carry. Not ready to let go? It still runs fine on iPhone 8 / X (iOS 16+). That's a bridge, not a requirement. A NOTE ON SAFETY Piano tuning involves real physical risk to your instrument and to you. This app measures; it does not replace a qualified technician. For large pitch raises or valuable instruments, hire a professional.

What’s new

Version 0.5.3 · Updated October 10, 2026

• iPhone Duo support: when unfolded, Piano Tuner now fills the whole inner display in any orientation, with no black bars, and its controls stay clear of the camera. • While nothing is being heard, the tuning hint now shows a neutral dash instead of a misleading "turn counter-clockwise". • Each new tuning session now starts clean, without the last reading from the previous one.
