Detours: Traffic & Road Alerts

Navigation apps are great at getting you around an accident. But they can only help once you're already in the car. Detours works before that. When CHP logs an incident on your route, Detours sends you an alert — while you're still home, still deciding. Leave a few minutes early. Take the street you know. Or just grab another coffee. Think of it as the app you check before you open your navigation app. —— LIVE INCIDENT MAP Active CHP incidents across California — crashes, hazards, fires, closures — plus Caltrans Lane Closure System (LCS), mapped side by side and shown with distinct markers so you can tell them apart at a glance. UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURES Caltrans schedules lane and road closures for construction and maintenance days in advance. Detours shows you what's closing on your highways up to 3 days ahead — not just live incidents as they occur. ALERTS BEFORE YOU LEAVE Set up alert zones around your commute, your neighborhood, or any route you drive regularly. Detours watches them quietly in the background and sends a calm heads-up when a matching CHP incident appears. (Push alerts currently cover CHP incidents only; Caltrans closures are available on the map and in the closures list.) LIVE ACTIVITY & DYNAMIC ISLAND Follow an active incident without opening the app. Detours shows the incident's status right on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island, updating as CHP's log develops — including when it clears from the log, often the most useful update of all. PLAIN ENGLISH, LESS JARGON* CHP dispatch shorthand takes years to learn. Detours translates it automatically into clear, simple language — no guesswork. Toggle incident details between plain English and the original RAW text. *When available. —— Free includes the live map, incident details, and alerts for one highway with a limited radius. Detours Pro unlocks unlimited highways, custom alert zones, custom notification schedules, upcoming closure browsing, and Live Activity tracking. Start with a free 7-day trial. No account needed. No sign-up. Just open it.
