About shotmeal - calorie tracker
Snap a meal, know the calories. Take a photo of your plate and shotmeal's AI estimates the calories — plus protein, carbs, sugar, fibre, fat and sodium — in seconds. Spin the dial to fine-tune, and it's in your diary. SNAP AND LOG • Photo, a quick description ("two tacos with guac") or manual entry — whatever is fastest • Every estimate lists each item and its portion, so you can fix what the AI got wrong • Save favourites and re-log your usual breakfast in two taps • A photo diary of everything you've eaten, in real pictures SEE YOUR PROGRESS • Log your weight by hand, or read it from Apple Health so your smart scale's readings arrive on their own • A 7-day trend line that smooths out day-to-day swings • Your real weekly rate next to the pace you chose, and when you'll reach an optional target weight • Statistics, streaks and insights — each day measured against the goal you had that day FOR THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD • Track meals for up to five people from one phone, kids included • Link with your partner via QR code and see each other's diaries — weight and body data are never shared YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS • Works offline, no account needed to start • Optional cloud backup to sync across devices • No ads. Your meals and weight are never sold, and never used to train AI models — Subscription unlocks AI estimation. Monthly or annual, with a 7-day free trial. Manual logging, the photo diary, weight tracking, statistics and your household are free.
What’s new
Version 2.0.0 · Updated September 28, 2026
Your whole household Track meals for up to five people from one phone — your kids, a partner, anyone you cook for. Tap a name at the top of Today to switch diaries; the camera logs to whoever is selected. Children get a goal you set yourself, since adult formulas don't apply to them. Link with another account Invite your partner with a QR code or a short code and see each other's diaries, photos and goals — never weight, height or age. Each of you decides whether the other may also add meals for your household. More than calories Every AI estimate now includes protein, carbs, sugar, fibre, fat, saturated fat and sodium. Turn on advanced mode in Settings → Nutrition tracking to follow the ones you care about, with daily targets based on EFSA and WHO reference values (sources in the app) — or set your own. Track your progress Turn on weight tracking in Profile to log your weight — by hand, or straight from Apple Health, so your smart scale's readings arrive on their own — and get a new Progress tab in Statistics: a 7-day trend line that smooths out daily swings, your real weekly rate next to the pace you chose, and — if you set one — an estimate of when you'll reach your target weight. Goals that remember Changing your calorie goal no longer rewrites the past. Every day is judged against the goal you had that day — in the charts, the on-target rate, streaks and insights. A new AI engine Estimates now come from a newer, more accurate model and arrive faster, with two backup models ready if it's ever unavailable. You can also run the next estimate sooner. Today, redesigned The big number is now what you've eaten; what's left sits in the badge under the ring. Meals are summed by type — breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks — instead of one chip per meal. Browse all your photos In the photo diary, swipe left and right through every photo you've logged, from the first to the last — not just one day's. Plus small fixes, like the status bar staying readable in the full-screen photo viewer.
