Underway – Know What's Ahead. Whether you're cruising, fishing, heading to your favorite waterfront restaurant, or spending the day on the water, Underway helps you make smarter, safer boating decisions. Built by boaters, for boaters, Underway is a community-powered app where users share real-time information about hazards, water conditions, and other valuable boating information. Community Powered Underway becomes more valuable every time someone contributes. Whether you're running offshore, cruising Long Island Sound, exploring coastal waters, or spending the day on your local lake, you can help other boaters navigate safely by reporting what you see. Designed for Every Boater • Recreational boaters & Captains • Center consoles • Cruisers • Fishing boats • Personal Watercraft (PWC) • Kayakers & paddleboarders • Sailing enthusiasts & Boating Club Users Coming Soon We're just getting started. Future updates will include: • Fuel dock locations • Marinas & transient dockage • Waterfront restaurants & destinations • Local boating information • Additional community features • Even more tools to help you enjoy your time on the water Whether you're heading out for a quick cruise or a weekend adventure, Underway helps you stay informed, avoid hazards, and enjoy your day with confidence.

What’s new

Version 1.1 · Updated September 15, 2026

Underway 1.1 adds a logbook and makes it easier to keep your reports current. - Trip recording: Tap Trips to start recording, and Underway keeps a breadcrumb trail of where you went, even with the screen off. Your trips are private to you, backed up to your account, and listed with the date, distance, and duration. - Follow a previous trip: Open any past trip and tap Follow This Trip. Its track is drawn under your live trail so you can retrace a route that worked, like the safe way in and out of a harbor. - My reports: See every hazard you've reported and its status in one place, under Settings. When someone finds one of your reports helpful, they can send you a thanks. - Keep your reports current: Tapping "Still There" on your own report now extends it, so hazards you know are still out there stay on the map. - Simplified map controls: one labeled rail for Settings, Trips, Nearby, camera view, and recenter, plus a bigger Report Hazard button. - Alert distance update: Alerts now fire by default at 1/8 nautical mile. Change this anytime in Settings.
