About Vazhe - Persian Keyboard
Vazhe (واژه, "word") turns Finglish, Persian written in Latin letters, into Persian script, on your device. Type "salam chetori" and get سلام چطوری. Paste a Persian message and read it back in Latin letters you can sound out. Tap a word you don't know and its card opens right there. A KEYBOARD THAT SPEAKS BOTH The Vazhe keyboard suggests Persian as you type Finglish in any app. Space accepts, or tap an alternative from the bar. English words are left alone, so you can write mixed messages naturally. The strip shows Persian suggestions only by default, and while English suggestions are off the keyboard will not quietly rewrite your English either. What you typed is what lands. The app's Keyboard tab gets you started: one button takes you to the switch in Settings, with quick switches for Persian digits, swipe and English suggestions. The rest of the keyboard settings, your words and snippets live under the Vazhe tab. Your own text shortcuts and contact names keep working either way. READ IT, THEN UNDERSTAND IT Paste Persian into Read mode and get it back in Latin letters you can sound out, for anyone who speaks Persian but never learned to read it. Then tap a word, in Read or in Translate, to open its card: meanings, a reading you can sound out, word forms and example sentences. Tap the speaker to hear each word's pronunciation. Starting from English? Look a word up in English and find the Persian. TRANSLATE, ON YOUR DEVICE On iPhone 15 Pro and newer with iOS 26 or later, Vazhe also translates between English, Persian and Finglish in any direction. The first time you choose English, Vazhe offers the translator as a one-time download of about 1.9 GB from Apple (Wi-Fi recommended; keep Vazhe open until it finishes). After that, translation runs entirely on your device, and what you translate is never sent anywhere. PRIVATE WHERE IT COUNTS • Offline for everything you type: conversion, suggestions, Read mode and word cards all run on your device, and so does the translator once it has downloaded • The keyboard never asks for "Full Access," and iOS itself enforces that: it cannot connect to anything • No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking • What Vazhe remembers stays on your device. The words you commit and the chips you tap make later suggestions better; keyboard learning can be switched off or cleared whenever you like, and you can export your own dictionary • Vazhe itself makes exactly one network call, the feedback form, and only when you tap Send, on a screen that shows you what it is about to send. The one-time translator download comes from Apple, through iOS, and carries nothing you type Texting family, reading their messages, writing to friends, posting: if you think in Persian but type in Latin letters, Vazhe gives you the script back without changing how you type. Vazhe is an assistive tool: it offers ranked suggestions, instantly and privately. It is not a perfect converter, and that honesty is the design.
What’s new
Version 1.4 · Updated October 23, 2026
A fresh Vazhe: dictionary cards, lookup from English, and a tidier keyboard setup. • Tap a Persian word in Translate to open its card: meaning, reading, forms and example sentences, right on your device. • Look up from English: type an English word and find the Persian. • Hear it said: tap the speaker on a word card for its pronunciation. • Translate between English, Persian and Finglish in any direction on iPhone 15 Pro and newer. The translator runs on your device. • The Keyboard tab is now the keyboard's home: one button takes you to the switch. Keyboard settings live under the Vazhe tab: Persian digits, swipe, English suggestions, your words and snippets. • Read mode handles ezafe, compounds and names more reliably, and foreign names keep their English spelling. • Finglish typing is more forgiving of common spelling variations. • A new Vazhe tab: settings, feedback and about in one list. Offline for everything you type: conversion, suggestions, Read mode and the dictionary all run on your device.
