CHOIL

CHOIL is the precision-milled digital vault for knife and EDC collectors. Catalog every folder, fixed blade, and EDC piece you own, see what your collection is really worth, and go deeper on the steel and craft than any spreadsheet ever could. Built for people who care about the details. YOUR VAULT • Log knives, pens, lighters, and more — brand, model, steel, lock, blade geometry, provenance, condition, and photos • Add a piece fast, your way: snap a photo for AI identification, scan a barcode (free UPC lookup), paste a product link, search the built-in catalog of known models, or enter it by hand • A live portfolio value that tracks what you've invested vs. what it's worth • Every record gets a permanent, never-reused inventory number, separate from your order/reference number • Print one item, a number range, or the active vault on Avery 5160 or 5163 labels, with a private QR link back to each record • Organize with color labels and sub-vaults, mark favorites, track quantities, and set maintenance reminders so a blade never goes too long without care BUILT FOR THE FIELD • Optional Offline access keeps a read-only copy of your vault, sold pieces, sub-vaults, daily carry, maintenance, labels, wishlists, and photos on one device • Reconnect-aware refresh checks the server automatically; pull down on vault and wishlist screens whenever you want the latest changes immediately • Crop, rotate, flip, straighten, tune, or filter a new camera photo before it uploads WISHLISTS • Keep as many wishlists as you want of the knives you're hunting • Capture wants the same fast ways you log owned pieces — photo, barcode, link, or catalog • Swipe through a list, share it privately or with a public link, and convert any wishlist item into your vault the moment you buy it KNOW WHAT IT'S WORTH • AI-powered valuation grounded in real resale data • Per-model price intel: typical range, recent sales, floor and ceiling • Brand resale leaderboards — see which makers actually hold their value • Drop Watch: follow the models you want and catch new arrivals and price moves GO DEEPER ON THE STEEL • A CAD-style blueprint for every blade shape • The Steel Matrix: edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and sharpenability mapped as a live metallurgy radar • Compare any two knives head to head THE CURATOR (AI) • Ask anything about your collection — gaps, value, what to sell, what's overdue for maintenance — and get answers grounded in your actual vault • Run an AI Analysis for a scored rating of your collection across seven dimensions, with concrete ways to level it up SELLING, HISTORY & DOCUMENTS • Mark pieces available in The Case, prepare listing drafts and cross-post copy, then record the actual sale, fees, shipping, and realized P&L • Keep an append-only provenance chain and transfer that history to another collector with a claim link • Generate a Bill of Sale for one piece or an insurance schedule for the whole collection COMMUNITY • Trading Post: a community board to list pieces and connect with fellow collectors.
