About PhotoView: EXIF Photo Viewer

Every photo remembers how it was taken. PhotoView shows you — camera, lens, aperture, shutter, ISO, location and IPTC — in an overlay you can dismiss with a single tap. A full-screen viewer for the photos, Live Photos and videos already in your library, with the technical story one tap away. You choose which fields appear, how large the overlay is and which corner it sits in. Not an endless list — exactly what you care about. VIEW • Browse your whole library, your own albums, shared albums and smart albums. • Photos, Live Photos and videos full screen. Swipe to the next photo, pinch to zoom, double-tap for fit or fill. • Mark favorites — one photo, or a whole selection at once. • Multi-select to add to an album, remove from an album, delete, or play as a slideshow. • Create albums and folders while you browse. METADATA • Camera and lens — make, model, lens, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, focal length with 35 mm equivalent, exposure program, metering, white balance and flash, decoded into plain language. • Computational capture — HDR gain maps, depth and disparity, portrait and segmentation mattes, spatial and cinematic video, time-lapse and slow motion, Live Photo identifiers. • Video — duration, codec, frame rate, bit rate, audio codec, sample rate and channels. • Your layout — pick the fields, set the size and the font size (small, medium, large), drag the overlay into any corner. • Built-in help explains every group and every field — and the app itself. SLIDESHOWS & AIRPLAY • Full-screen slideshows with seven transitions — Ken Burns, crossfade, slide, push, zoom, cut or shuffle — a per-slide duration, and play, pause and step controls. • Send a photo, video, Live Photo or a running slideshow to the big screen over AirPlay from iPhone and iPad — relaxed viewing with family and friends. The big screen shows the picture only, never the toolbar and never the metadata. • Designed for iOS and iPadOS 26 and 27, with Liquid Glass materials throughout. PHOTOVIEW PRO • IPTC — headline, caption, keywords, title, rating, creator, credit, source, copyright, usage terms, city, region and country, plus the full IPTC Extension set: people, events, artwork, image regions, alt text, releases and licensing. • From the Photos app — on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, the rating, keywords and caption you set there, beside the values in the file, each marked with its source. • Location — GPS coordinates with altitude, direction and precision; open any geotagged photo on a map. • RAW and desktop metadata — DNG raw-pipeline tags, embedded XMP from Lightroom, Capture One and Photoshop (ratings, labels, keyword trees, edit history, drone telemetry, panorama), AI and generative-provenance fields, plus Canon and Nikon maker notes. Free to use. Try Pro free for 7 days — no card, no auto-renew, nothing to cancel. Then unlock it for good with a single one-time purchase. No subscription. Privacy first: every field is read on your device. Your photos are never uploaded, and there is no tracking and no advertising. Only your settings can sync across your devices through your own iCloud, or be exported as a JSON backup. Universal: one purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. For photographers checking gear and settings, archivists cataloging shoots, retouchers verifying IPTC and rights — and anyone curious about how a picture was made. Questions or feedback? What’s new

Version 1.0.1 · Updated October 23, 2026

NEW • See the ratings, keywords and captions you set in the Photos app on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, kept up to date as you change them, with a small mark that shows where each value comes from (PhotoView Pro). • Choose Small, Medium or Large text for the overlay in Settings ▸ Metadata. If you had “Large font” on, you now have Medium. • Rate PhotoView, tell a friend, leave a tip, read the blog or send me feedback from the new Support pane in Settings. • PhotoView now comes in British English, too. IMPROVED • Keep the slideshow controls on screen while you use them. • Small controls such as “Restore purchase”, the Map link and the LIVE badge are easier to tap. • On iPad, the sidebar comes out when you turn to landscape, unless you hid it yourself, and resizing a window keeps your album, open photo, Settings or Help in place. • Albums open more reliably, thumbnails no longer reload when you tap “Select”, and slideshow videos start sooner. • Bounce now plays a Live Photo exactly as long as the original, with no repeated frames. • Pro is ready the moment PhotoView opens, even offline, and a purchase waiting for approval through Ask to Buy or your bank now says so. FIXED • Photos with damaged metadata no longer crash the viewer. • The overlay no longer shows the previous photo's details when a photo can't be loaded, such as an iCloud original while you're offline. • Swiping back from the screen edge works again after you close a photo. • With two PhotoView windows open on iPad, each one shows and acts on its own photo and album. • Sharing now tells you when an original can't be downloaded, and shared videos are no longer cut short. • Metadata is more accurate: the real pixel size of resized photos, “High frame rate” only for slow-motion clips, and unknown dates left as the file writes them. • A slideshow no longer gets stuck on one slide after you change the duration twice. • The Metadata Fields switches always match what's saved, and your settings no longer keep details of the last photo you viewed.
