Pigments: Paint Color Picker

Pigments is the pigment intelligence app for traditional artists. Look up any pigment by CI code, common name, or chemical composition. Understand what's actually in your paint — and whether it's safe, permanent, and worth buying. 755+ PIGMENTS, ONE TAP AWAY Search the full database by CI code (PB29, PY42), common name (Ultramarine Blue, Raw Sienna), alias, or chemical formula. Every entry includes opacity, lightfastness, oil absorption, toxicity, chemical composition, and manufacturer aliases across brands and mediums. CAMERA COLOR MATCHING Point your camera at any color — a reference painting, a swatch, a fabric — and Pigments identifies the closest matching pigments using Delta E color science in LAB color space. Calibrate white balance for accurate results. PALETTE AUDITING Build a palette and let Pigments audit it. The app flags duplicate pigments hiding under different brand names, warns about poor lightfastness or toxic materials, and spots near-identical pigments you don't need. Stop wasting money on redundant tubes. SIDE-BY-SIDE COMPARISON Compare up to 4 pigments across opacity, lightfastness, oil absorption, toxicity, and chemical composition. See the differences that matter before you buy. MEDIUMS & ADDITIVES Browse 37 mediums and additives with safety data, usage notes, and alternative names. Know what you're mixing into your paint. PIGMENT AI ASSISTANT Ask natural-language questions: "Which blue pigments are non-toxic and lightfast?" or "What's the difference between Ultramarine and Prussian Blue?" Get answers with direct links to pigment entries. Powered by Apple Intelligence, processed entirely on device. FAVORITES & COLLECTIONS Save pigments you use or want to try. Organize them into custom palettes for specific projects. Every palette gets automatic safety and quality analysis.
