About Diurna: Staff Scheduling
Diurna helps restaurants, hotels, cafes and shops manage their team's schedule and working time from the phone. Plan shifts, record attendance and absences, and export clear reports to Excel or CSV. What you can do with Diurna • Plan shifts in day, week and timeline views • Record time and attendance for the whole team • Log absences (sick leave, vacation, time off) and overtime in a few taps • Keep team members and their contracts in one place • Export hours, absences and overtime to Excel or CSV • Switch between light and dark mode • Work in Italian, English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish or Portuguese Employee app Turn on the Diurna employee app for your team. On their own phones, people clock in and out, see their hours worked in My hours and their shifts, send requests (vacation, time off, sick leave, overtime) and get notifications about their shifts and your replies. The time clock is switched on by the business or its payroll firm, which can also check whether someone is at the workplace: the exact position never leaves the phone. You decide who uses it. Knowledge base Upload your own documents: collective agreements, procedures, policies, safety rules and FAQs. The chat in the app answers questions from them and shows the source, so answers stay consistent with your own rules, without searching through files. Diurna's own user guide is built in. Included in the Pro plan. Designed for Italian and Austrian working-time rules Diurna is designed for working-time rules in Italy and Austria. Set up the rules of your contract, and Diurna helps you keep absences and overtime consistent as you record them. Free trial Try Diurna free for 30 days. After the trial, you subscribe in the app. Your data The data of your business and your team is protected and stays private to your account. What’s new
Version 24.9 · Updated October 30, 2026
• New privacy policy and terms of use: the app asks you to accept the new versions. Businesses outside Italy and Austria now get international legal texts in their own language • Employee chat: after a request is sent, cancelled or withdrawn, the chat asks "Would you like to make another request?" and then starts a new conversation • Employee chat: ask about the rules for your requests (how far ahead, how many days, overtime limits) or when a payroll month closes, and get the answer on a card • Employee chat: typing the word on a button works like tapping it. The chat never makes up dates, hours or types; if a detail is missing, it opens the request card at that step • Holiday requests name each public holiday in the chosen dates that is not counted, for example "6 January 2027 is a public holiday (Epiphany) and is not counted as a holiday day". Only planned working days that are not public holidays count as holiday days, the same on every screen • Time clock: at clock-out the phone also asks about time worked before the planned start; each part you accept becomes its own overtime request • If a business's app store subscription ends, employees still see their schedule, hours and past requests; clocking in, requests and the chat are paused until it is renewed, and the message says why • Businesses that run their own payroll: Settings shows the payroll cut-off rule • Italy: in the manager's chat, an on-call shift is registered only once the notice to the Ministry has been sent; if it cannot be sent, the chat says why and what to do • Austria (businesses in Austria only): a working-time limit broken on today or a past day now gives a warning instead of a refusal, the daily-limit message says how many hours are still allowed that day, and a closed payroll month names the rules it was closed with • Break checks follow the break settings chosen for each business • After an update, the app reloads itself once instead of showing an error screen; other error screens say what happened and what to do • Clearer messages throughout the app, and disabled buttons that are easier to read
