MagenQ – CAC/PIV Logon for your iPhone Start with a free 7-day trial! Log on with CAC/PIV credentials on your iPhone. MagenQ is compatible with AirID Bluetooth readers and common USB-C readers. MagenQ enables secure, certificate-based sign-in on iOS while protecting sensitive credentials. KEY CHARACTERISTICS • Secure CAC and PIV authentication on iOS • Works with compatible Bluetooth and USB-C smartcard readers • Private keys remain on the smartcard and are not exported to the device • Integration via Apple CryptoTokenKit • Compatibility with existing PKI infrastructures FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW MagenQ enables external readers (via Bluetooth LE or USB-C) to authenticate smartcard credentials on iOS. The solution leverages Apple system frameworks, including CryptoTokenKit, to enable certificate-based workflows on iOS. Designed for organizations requiring certificate-based authentication — including enterprise, government, and regulated environments. SUPPORTED USE CASES Mobile secure access without desktop dependency. MagenQ supports certificate-based authentication and cryptographic workflows in the following contexts: Email (S/MIME) • Email signing and encryption Web Applications (mTLS) • Client certificate authentication via Safari and supported browsers Enterprise and Government Applications • PKI-based authentication • Smartcard-backed digital signatures HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY AirID Readers AirID 2 and AirID 2 mini support smartcard connectivity via: • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) • USB-C connectivity Compatible USB-C Readers Supported CAC/PIV-compatible smartcard readers from TX Systems connect via USB-C. This enables both wireless smartcard workflows using AirID devices and wired workflows using compatible USB-C readers. Compatibility depends on reader support, smartcard type, and system configuration. STANDARDS AND COMPATIBILITY MagenQ is designed to operate within established CAC, PIV, and enterprise PKI environments, including: • ISO/IEC 7816 (smartcard communication) • ISO/IEC 7816-15 (key and certificate structures) • Common PKI implementations (e.g., enterprise PKI, PIV, CAC) Integration is based on standardized interfaces and does not require modification of backend systems. ENTERPRISE AND MANAGED ENVIRONMENTS MagenQ is designed to operate within existing PKI infrastructures and managed environments. Enterprise deployments can be supported through dedicated onboarding and configuration processes, including user assignment and activation workflows. TARGET ENVIRONMENTS MagenQ is intended for use in environments with increased security requirements: • Enterprise IT infrastructures • Government and public sector organizations • Critical infrastructure • Regulated industries This architecture preserves established hardware-based security models in mobile environments. SUMMARY MagenQ enables secure CAC and PIV authentication on iPhone and iPad using compatible smartcard readers and is designed for both individual users and enterprise deployments. NOTE MagenQ requires compatible smartcard hardware for full functionality. Functionality may depend on smartcard type and profile, reader compatibility, iOS configuration, and application support for certificate-based authentication.
