Outside In.

Outside In streams live outdoor sound from one iPhone to another over your home Wi-Fi. Place a spare phone outside — on a porch, by a window, in the yard — and keep one by the bed. Audio plays continuously in the background, even when the screen is locked, so you can fall asleep to the sounds of crickets, rain, or a quiet street without opening a window. Further, to help you reduce late-night scrolling, the sounds of nature will only play from your indoor phone if it is face down — such as on your nightstand. Hear the night as it is. Most sleep apps play recordings. Outside In lets you hear what's happening outside right now. Turn a spare phone into a live outdoor microphone. Keep your main phone by the bed. Crickets. Rain. Wind in the trees. Distant traffic. An owl somewhere in the dark. No sound libraries. No looping tracks. No generated ambience. Place one phone outside. Keep one by the bed. Flip face down to listen. Audio never leaves your Wi-Fi network. No accounts. No cloud. Nothing recorded. Set the phones. Dim the lights. Let the room settle. Tonight, instead of scrolling --- listen. Note: This app makes use of Background Audio. One phone (the "Outside" phone) continuously receives and streams audio to the second phone (the "Inside" phone) which utilizes background audio to play those sounds while you go to sleep.
