About FoodCam - Calorie Tracker

Snap once, logged. Photograph a meal — calories and macros before the food gets cold, then into Apple Health (including alcoholic drinks). FoodCam is an iOS food logging app: photograph a meal, and AI identifies the food, calculates calories and macros, and writes the result to Apple Health. It also logs water and alcohol, with drinks recorded to Apple Health's Number of Alcoholic Beverages — something most calorie trackers do not record at all. What FoodCam writes to Apple Health - Dietary energy (dietaryEnergyConsumed) - Protein (dietaryProtein) - Carbohydrates (dietaryCarbohydrates) - Fat (dietaryFatTotal) - Water (dietaryWater) - Alcoholic beverages (numberOfAlcoholicBeverages) Sync is two-way once authorised, so meal records can be restored from Apple Health. Frequently asked questions Q: Can it log alcohol to Apple Health? A: Yes. When you record a drink, FoodCam writes it to Apple Health's Number of Alcoholic Beverages, where it appears alongside the drinking trends in the Health app. Q: Does it need an internet connection? A: No. FoodCam includes an on-device analysis engine — Vision image recognition with Apple Intelligence models on iOS 26 and later, plus a local database of 92 foods. When you are offline, or your cloud allowance is used up, analysis falls back to the device so logging never stops. Q: What do you get without paying? A: Your first 7 days of high-accuracy cloud analysis are free and unlimited; after that, analysis continues on-device without limit and cloud analysis needs Premium. Logging, Apple Health sync, fasting tracking, charts and widgets are all free. Premium gives unlimited cloud analysis, the full AI nutrition report, the goal advisor and data export. Q: Which eating styles are supported? A: Four — balanced, low-carb, high-protein and keto, switchable at any time in settings. Q: Does it track intermittent fasting? A: Yes, including 16:8, 18:6 and 20:4, with a live timer, Live Activities and Dynamic Island support. Features Today - One big number for today's calories, a hairline for how far you are from target, and a carbs / protein / fat ratio bar for how the day was eaten - Meals as a timeline with photo, calories and ratio line — water, alcohol and coffee appear on it too, as icons - A week strip that shows meal photos instead of date circles AI food recognition - Photograph a meal for calories and macros; one photo can identify several foods - Save frequent meals and re-log them in one tap - Or pick from the photo library, or type a food name Drink tracking - Quick water, alcohol and coffee entries live inside the log button - Water and alcohol written to Apple Health; caffeine tracked in the app - A row of sparklines on Me shows period totals; tap one for the full chart Me (period analysis) - One 7 / 30 / 90-day picker drives everything - Daily average and ratio, day-by-day bars for calories or any macro, energy burned overlaid once Apple Health is connected - Eating insights: per-meal share and average meal times; meal-time heatmap - Macro ratio pie (free); AI nutrition report and goal advisor (Premium) Intermittent fasting - Multiple fasting schedules with a live timer, optional dedicated tab - Live Activities and Dynamic Island Weight - Weight history and trend Widgets - Two home-screen widgets: today's nutrition and quick logging Also included - Meal photo gallery you can browse by month - Data export (Premium) Who it is for - People who want to log meals but find manual entry tedious - Anyone tracking food and alcohol together - Anyone who wants their Apple Health nutrition data to be complete - People losing weight, building muscle or maintaining - Busy people who manage their lives by the numbers Design principle: fast, accurate, simple.
