About Athletic Training Portal
Athletic Training Portal (ATP) helps coaches and athletic trainers better understand how their athletes move. Using video recorded on an iPhone, ATP measures joint angles and range of motion and tracks how an athlete’s movement changes over time. It can be used during practice or for baseline testing, without any special equipment. Built for coaches ATP is built to work alongside a team’s normal training routine. Coaches can check movement quickly during practice, review more detailed results later, and follow each athlete’s progress over the course of the season. Capture movement from the field Coaches can record an athlete directly from an iPhone. Quick Capture provides joint-angle measurements within seconds, making it useful for checking a movement between reps. For larger sessions, multiple videos can also be uploaded at once and reviewed later. Level every recording A built-in leveler shows coaches when the phone is square before they hit record. When the phone is within 1° of level, the guide turns green and gives a haptic tap. A tilted camera can skew joint-angle measurements, so keeping the phone level makes results easier to compare from a baseline to a retest weeks later. Track baselines and progress Coaches can establish a baseline for important movements and re-test athletes throughout the season. ATP compares new results to the athlete’s own baseline and a target for that movement, making it easy to see where they have improved and where they may still be limited. Biomechanical insights Each capture includes joint-angle and range-of-motion data, along with a 2D skeleton overlay and 3D movement replay for a closer look. Athletes are compared to their own previous results rather than ranked against teammates, so the focus stays on individual progress. An app for athletes, too Athletes can sign in to see their own movement data. They get a simple view of their mobility, the results their coach shares and how they are progressing against their baseline. Coaches handle all recording, and athletes see the results. Monitor athletes throughout the season The dashboard gives staff one place to view ROM trends, baseline history, and assessment results across the roster. From there, they can look more closely at an individual athlete when something stands out. Make more informed decisions ATP is not meant to replace a coach or trainer’s judgment. It gives them more information to work with. ATP tracks changes in range of motion, asymmetries, and movement patterns over time. This information can help staff make more informed decisions about training, workload, and return-to-play. Who it’s for ATP is built for strength and conditioning coaches, athletic trainers, sports scientists, and performance staff who want a simple way to test movement and monitor athletes throughout a season. It’s also for the athletes they work with, who can now follow their own progress.
What’s new
Version 1.3.2 · Updated October 21, 2026
Athlete app Athletes can now sign in to ATP on their own iPhone. They can see their mobility at a glance, look through the results their coach shares and follow their progress against their own baseline. The athlete view is read-only. Coaches still handle all recording and uploads. Recording leveler for coaches A new leveler sits above the record button in sports capture and Quick Capture. Two lines show whether the phone is tilted. When the phone is within 1° of level, the lines line up, turn green and you feel a haptic tap. If the phone is tilted, it shows the angle so you can fix it, but recording is never blocked. A level phone gives more consistent joint-angle measurements from one session to the next. Improvements and bug fixes General performance and stability improvements.
