About Blood Tribe/Kainaiwa
Oki, and welcome to the Blood Tribe / Kainaiwa app. This is where the Blood Tribe Administration and its departments share what's happening across the Blood Reserve in southern Alberta, from Standoff and Moses Lake to Levern and Fish Creek. The app is free, and anyone is welcome to follow along. Public notices come first, because they matter most. When water delivery or garbage pick-up is disrupted, a power outage is planned or an office closes early, you'll see it here as soon as it's posted, with a push notification so it reaches you right away. There's plenty to look forward to as well. This fall the calendar has carried a Halloween powwow, a haunted house and a creepy carnival, Navigate the Shadows at Gladstone Hall, a Blackfoot language symposium, the Kainai War Veterans Committee's Remembrance Day event and a Christmas dinner in Edmonton hosted by Chief and Council. Any event can go straight into your phone's calendar with one tap. You'll also find job openings across Blood Tribe departments, monthly department updates, the weekly In Case You Missed It roundup, and press releases you can open and share. What's New • Smoother Feed: Scrolling is noticeably smoother, and posts no longer repeat or change order while you scroll. • Quicker Tabs: Switching tabs and signing in reload less, so the feed appears sooner. • Highlighted Notes: Important notes in posts now stand out in a shaded box. • Easier-to-Read Links: Links in posts stay clear and readable in dark mode. • Calendar: The month arrows now stay on the month you choose. • Notifications: Tapping a notification opens its post, even right after you install the app, and new installs set up notifications more reliably. • Slow Connections: Pages load more reliably when the signal is weak. Recently added: • Community Calendar: A tab with a month and week view of everything coming up. Tap a day to see its events, open one for the time and location, and add it straight to your own calendar. • Instant Search: Find any post in seconds, with results that appear as you type. • Richer Posts: News and events support headings, bold text, lists and links. • Custom Categories: Administrators can create their own feed categories, so posts are grouped the way the community chooses. • Dark Mode: The navigation bar follows your dark mode setting.
