About Paradox Shift

Paradox Shift is a chess variant where every piece can vanish one turn — and reappear at its destination moments later. Plan attacks across turns. Coordinate timed arrivals. Defend against threats that don't exist yet.

Paradox Shift takes standard chess rules and adds the dimension of time to the game, where each piece can move forward in time based on the piece movement. The time travel component allows interesting scenarios, such as phasing a pawn out of the way for your rook to move forward, or to surprise your opponent with a piece that reappears later to capture a square that is no longer empty.

Paradox Shift has a single player campaign mode, in which you face an increasingly difficult opponent for 40 levels before becoming the Paradox Grandmaster, unlocking rewards and the ability for online ranked matches. In the campaign, you not only face a difficult opponent but also an ever changing board. In early levels, you unlock the ability to time travel with different pieces; and in later levels you experience a new mechanic known as The Rift. The end game for the campaign changes the rules entirely, as tiem travel becomes more frequent and some pieces can move much further into the future allowing coordinated strikes.

In the in game shop, you can find the same rewards that can be unlocked during the campaign, as well as some additional piece and board themes.
