About Dream Journal & Sleep Cues
Choose a song, hold a thought while it plays, and go to sleep. Through the night, Dream Cue plays short, quiet pieces of that same song, to see whether the thought comes back in your dreams. In the morning, write down what you remember.
HOW IT WORKS
Before bed, write down what you want to dream about and listen to tonight's track once, lying down, keeping that thought in mind. Then press Start. After a delay long enough to fall asleep, the app plays a short excerpt of the track every so often until morning, each one faded in and out and meant to be too quiet to wake you.
It builds on targeted memory reactivation, an idea from sleep research: a sound heard while you are thinking of something, replayed during sleep, can bring that thought back. The music on its own does nothing; what matters is what you were thinking when you heard it.
A DREAM JOURNAL FOR EVERY NIGHT
Each night is kept on your phone: what you wanted to dream about, the track, and when every cue played, next to your notes from the morning. Delete any night you don't want to keep.
YOUR MUSIC, OR OURS
Pick a folder of your own music and the app reads only that folder. Calm tracks you know well work best, ideally without a hook that sticks in your head. Three gentle cues come with the app, so you can try it tonight without setting anything up.
VOLUME THAT TAKES CARE OF ITSELF
Set the volume by ear while tonight's track plays, with the slider or your phone's keys. Each cue plays at that level and puts your phone's own volume back afterwards, so whatever it was left at during the day does not matter. Turn a cue down in the night and it stays down.
YOUR TIMING
Choose how long to wait before the first cue, how long each cue lasts, the time between cues and when to stop. The same track plays all night, a different part of it each time, loudness-matched so no cue jumps out.
MADE FOR YOUR PHONE
Follows your system theme and wallpaper colours, and you can set the app's language separately from your phone's.
