EchoVaults

What happens if something happens to you?

EchoVaults is a secure, offline-first mobile app that helps you prepare for unexpected loss, disappearance, death, or emergency.

It ensures the people you trust most can access the guidance, words, or information they need to continue fostering your interests and legacy — at the right time, not sooner.

There are no accounts. No servers. No logins. Just encrypted data stored safely on your device.

Privacy First. Offline. Unbreakable
EchoVaults stores all data locally, with no internet requirement. Your information never leaves your device — not even EchoVault can access it. There is no cloud, no sign-in, and no data sync. We collect nothing. We track nothing. We do not show ads or allow third-party tracking SDK.

How It Works
☞ Set a trusted contact’s name — the person you'd like to have access if something ever happens to you
☞ Choose a secure master password to lay the encryption and protect the app
☞ Create five personal security questions that only someone close would know
☞ Write your messages, instructions, or sensitive data into vaults, which you organize into access levels:

Basic Vaults unlock immediately after the trusted contact correctly answers the security questions. These are ideal for parting guidance, important instructions, or compassionate messages following a disappearance or loss.

Sensitive Vaults allow you to set a specific delay before unlocking — from a few minutes to up to ten years. This category is perfect for time-sensitive content like legal documents (to avoid disputes), business secret (to aid continuity), personal letters, or instructions that should only be revealed in the future.

Ultra-Sensitive Vaults are for your eyes only. No one else, not even your most trusted person can ever access them. They are meant for things you want to keep private, forever or until you personally choose to access them.

EchoVaults is Built for the Moments No One Prepares For.

Death. Emergencies. Loss. Disappearances. Life does not come with warnings, but it often leaves people behind, searching for answers. EchoVaults helps ensure your voice, your intentions, and your care do not disappear with your everlasting absence.

Always Free
EchoVaults is 100% free. There are no upgrades, no subscriptions, and no advertisements. It is not a business. It is a public-interest software project created to protect real people in the real world.

We are funded by personal donations and built on the belief that privacy is not a feature — it is a right. We have rejected growth capital, tracking-based advertising, and any partnership that compromises user control.

For accountability, our encryption system is open-sourced on GitHub, and our values are fully transparent at echovaults.org/transparency
