About Rilke – German Exam Prep A1-C1
Preparing for a German exam? Rilke is complete preparation for the Goethe-Zertifikat, telc and ÖSD at A1–C1 and for the DTZ (Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer, A2–B1): all four exam parts — Schreiben, Sprechen, Hören and Lesen — plus Grammatik and Wortschatz to build the German underneath. Your writing and speaking are graded by AI against the criteria real examiners use; everything else works offline, free and without an account.
SCHREIBEN — WRITING, GRADED LIKE THE EXAM
Nobody can mark their own letter. Write an exam task, submit it and get a score out of 100 with concrete feedback in your language: what cost you points and how to win them back. Every task follows the Goethe, telc, ÖSD or DTZ format of your level, from the A1 postcard to the C1 opinion piece. Practise one part or sit the whole writing exam under the clock. Practised on paper? Add a photo of the page and it is graded like a typed answer. Your first correction is free.
SPRECHEN — SPEAKING, WITH A PARTNER
The German speaking exam is held in pairs, so the app provides your partner: plan something together, argue your point, ask and answer, and be assessed on the exam criteria. Warm up by saying exam phrases aloud and shadowing model answers sentence by sentence; pace, pauses and filler words are measured on your device.
HÖREN — LISTENING, PLAYED LIKE THE EXAM
Recordings in the real exam parts, played exactly as often as the exam plays them — some parts twice, some once, with the printed reading time before each. Afterwards the transcript shows you the sentence you missed. Listening covers A1 to B2; at C1 you practise with the B2 recordings.
LESEN — READING IN THE REAL EXAM PARTS
Reading tasks for every part of the exam at every level. One part at a time or the whole paper under one timer. Every answer key explains why the answer is right and where in the text it says so.
GRAMMATIK — GERMAN GRAMMAR THAT EXPLAINS ITSELF
Every grammar topic your level is examined on: the rule, German examples, and exercises of every kind — gap-fill, multiple choice, transformation, error correction, word order. Get one wrong and the mistake is explained in your language.
WORTSCHATZ — VOCABULARY THAT STICKS
Flashcards with spaced repetition, built from the vocabulary your level is examined on. Every card carries what the exam asks for — the article, the plural, the verb forms, the preposition the verb governs — with an example sentence translated into your language, audio and pictures. Cards ask in both directions and by ear, and exercises quiz you on those facts. Learn German with it whether or not you ever book an exam.
DTZ — DEUTSCH-TEST FÜR ZUWANDERER
Finishing your integration course (Integrationskurs)? Practise the DTZ in its own format: every recording played once, reading with directories and ads, a letter graded on the test's four criteria and the paired speaking test with the app as your partner — with your result as B1, A2 or below A2.
ONE EXAM DATE, ONE PLAN
Enter your exam date and the app organises itself around it: a countdown, a daily goal, a streak and a readiness score. In the final week it switches to exam simulation.
IN YOUR LANGUAGE
Interface, explanations and feedback in your language — from English, Russian and Turkish to Arabic, Hindi and Chinese.
OFFLINE BY DESIGN
Grammatik, Wortschatz, Lesen, Hören and the writing editor need no connection at all. Only the AI assessment goes online. Optional sign-in carries your progress and subscription to another device.
Goethe-Zertifikat B1 for naturalisation, telc B2 for a job, C1 for a university place, ÖSD A1 for a visa or family reunion, the DTZ at the end of the integration course: Rilke gives you the exam's own format and tells you when you are ready for it. Download it and start with today's plan.
