First Keys Permit: Log & Test

NOTICE: this is an independent study app. It does not represent any government entity and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorized by any agency.

YOUR ROUTE, STAGE BY STAGE
Six stages, from the paperwork you do at home to the day the restrictions come off, with 26 requirements you check off as you go. At any point you can see where you are and what's left.

THE DRIVING LOGBOOK
Here you log a drive in twenty seconds: how long you drove, whether it was dark, whether it was raining, what kind of road, and who rode with you. The app adds it up, shows how far you are from your goal, and shows you the gap nobody notices — the freeway hours you've been avoiding. When it's time to hand it in, you export it.

ROAD TEST MANEUVERS
All 26 the examiner scores, grouped the way they happen on test day: the pre-drive check with the car stopped, basic control, driving on public roads, and the mistakes that end the test on the spot. For each one you see the instruction the examiner will give you — in English, which is how you'll hear it — and exactly what they're watching.

THE WRITTEN TEST
248 original practice questions based on the AAMVA model manual (see sources below). Each one explains why that's the answer and cites the section it came from, so you can go check it yourself. Rounds of ten for the wait at the bus stop, spaced review of what you keep missing, and a mock test using your state's real format when the state publishes it — and when it doesn't, the app says so instead of inventing a number.

YOUR STATE
All 51 jurisdictions with their agency, their official handbook to download and read offline, and — only when it's verified — how many questions their test has and which languages it's offered in. Anything unconfirmed is shown as unconfirmed.

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
No account, no sign-up, no server. Your hours, your route and your answers never leave the device. A driving log says what time and with whom someone drove, and that someone is usually a minor: there's no reason for us to have it.

Free, supported by ads. No subscriptions and no in-app purchases. You'll never see an ad while you're answering.
