About Whisper Recorder

Whisper Recorder is the Android companion for Whisper NPU Transcriber on Windows. Capture room meetings as speech-focused audio recordings, review them on your phone, and transfer selected files to your PC for private transcription.

The recording dashboard includes a large timer, live microphone-level waveform, peak-level warning, and clear record and stop controls. The default M4A/AAC profile is tuned for room meetings, while an optional WAV boost mode is available for difficult environments.

Choose Czech, English, or automatic language tagging. Saved recordings can be played, paused, exported to Downloads, shared through Android, uploaded individually, retried after a failed transfer, or deleted from the app.

Optional PC discovery finds Whisper NPU Transcriber's receiver on the same private network. Automatic upload is off by default and can be enabled to send recordings after capture. Recordings remain on the phone unless you export, share, upload, or delete them.

Privacy by design:
- No iHypnosis account
- No advertising or analytics SDKs
- No publisher-operated cloud recording service
- Backups of app recordings and settings are disabled
- Microphone access is used only while recording
- PC uploads go only to the receiver URL you choose

The bundled Windows receiver uses unencrypted HTTP and is intended only for a trusted private network. The Android app blocks public HTTP destinations; valid HTTPS receiver URLs are also supported. Use Android sharing instead when a trusted local network is not available.

Whisper NPU Transcriber for Windows is required for automatic transcription and is available separately from the Microsoft Store:

Automated transcripts can contain errors and should be reviewed against the original recording. Always obtain any consent required before recording other people.
