KongBoard 香港中文鍵盤

KongBoard is a Chinese-English keyboard designed for Hong Kong users. It allows you to type Cangjie, Sucheng, Yuepin, Pinyin, Stroke, and English simultaneously without switching.

【One Keyboard, Multiple Input Methods】
• Enable your preferred Chinese input method (multiple options available): Cangjie, Sucheng, Yuepin, Mandarin Pinyin, and Stroke; English is always available.

• When two or more are enabled, candidate characters will be automatically mixed and labeled with their source (e.g., "Su", "Yue", "Pin"); the source can be toggled on/off and its order can be dragged.

• Continuous Typing: Typing several characters consecutively will generate the first candidate for the entire sentence; you can select characters one by one if incorrect.

• Yuepin without Tones: Typing "neihou" outputs "你好" (Hello); it recognizes lazy pronunciation and common Hong Kong spellings; you can also type only the initial consonant, e.g., "hg" outputs "香港" (Hong Kong).

• Pinyin can include tones and also supports abbreviated pinyin and fuzzy pinyin, outputting traditional Chinese characters.

• Strokes can be used independently or mixed with other input methods.

• Hong Kong dictionary: Names of stations, districts, etc. For example, typing "tst" will output "Tsim Sha Tsui".

• Auto-correction: Even if you press the wrong key, miss a letter, or type an extra letter, the desired word will still be listed.

• English has auto-completion and British English syntax; English words also have Chinese suggestions, for example, typing "hello" will select "你好".

• Custom words: Typing abbreviations will output the entire phrase.

• Long-press a candidate word to hide unwanted words, which can be restored at any time in the settings; when suggested words are displayed, press ⊗ to turn them off.

【Handwriting and Swiping】

• Keyboard handwriting: When enabled, on the Cangjie, Quick, Cantonese, Pinyin, or mixed keyboard, lightly press the frequently typed characters and swipe with your finger to write; no need to switch input methods. The first stroke is written on the letter, and then the entire keyboard can be used for writing.

• After writing a character, candidate characters will appear in the candidate list. You choose which character to input. If you write the next character or press the space bar before selecting a character, the first candidate character will be input. To enable automatic input after stopping writing, you can enable "Automatic Input After Stopping Writing" in the settings (off by default).

• Full-screen handwriting: Larger grids make writing easier, and you still choose the character.

• Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) and English handwriting are recognized on the device. Before first use, you will be asked if you want to download the recognition model; the handwriting will not be uploaded.

• English swipe input: Swipe your finger over a letter and release to type the entire character; the candidate list can be changed.

【Translation Column】

• Type Chinese or English, and the translation is directly entered into the input field; translation is done on the device. First-time users need to download a model (Wi-Fi only is optional).

• You can also translate text in its original position and restore it.

• Simplified/Traditional conversion only converts the character shape, completed on the device (Android 10 or above).

【Emoji】

• Search for emojis using English or common Cantonese words (e.g., "happy"). There are also frequently used records and skin tone options.

• Typing Chinese characters displays your frequently used emojis. This feature is only available on this device and can be turned off.

【Clipboard】

• Recently copied text and images are displayed in a grid, up to 20 items each. One click pastes; long press to pin, delete, or preview images; press ✏ to select multiple items at once. Deleted items are restored within 5 seconds. Unpinned items are automatically deleted after 24 hours.

• Click the photo icon at the top of the clipboard to select photos using the system's photo selection tool. KongBoard does not require photo permissions and will not scan your photo album.

• Password fields, incognito mode, and content marked as sensitive are not saved; these can be turned off or cleared at any time.

【Voice and CAPTCHA】

• Voice input uses your selected voice service, with Cantonese as the default. The purpose of microphone peaks will be explained before first use. Voice input can also be set to a custom key; press and hold to speak, release to stop.

• After copying a verification code, simply press the top of the keyboard to input it, no permissions required; you can also choose to read the verification code from notifications (off by default; may not be able to read on Android 15 or above).

【Appearance and Operation】
• Follows system settings, light, dark, multiple Hong Kong color schemes, and holiday themes; keyboard background and key transparency can be adjusted separately, the "Transparency" of the keyboard's "More Tools" can be adjusted in real time, and can also be placed in the function bar.

• Dual spacebars: An additional spacebar can be added to the right, with several preset combinations; press and hold the spacebar to turn it into a touchpad, which can be used to move the cursor and select text.

• The function bar can be freely arranged, and tools can be selected and sorted.

• Key size is adjustable, with one-handed, detached, and floating keyboards available; the floating keyboard's size can be adjusted by dragging the four corners or edges.

• Tablets and foldable phones: The foldable phone's outer screen uses a mobile phone layout, while the inner screen uses a tablet layout.

• Key gestures, custom macros, and layout editing: Gestures can be assigned to any key. Keys can be moved, copied, and widened, and lines can be added.

【All features are free】

• All features are free to use; there are no locked features or trial periods: all themes in the theme library (including the holiday themes "Christmas Gift" and "Chinese New Year Red Gold"), up to 12 personal themes, all fonts, keycap styles, figurines, key effects and sounds, layout editing, gestures for any key, up to 20 custom macros, and all utility keys.

• If you like KongBoard, you can voluntarily pay for a coffee in "About & Instructions › Support KongBoard." The first coffee will be a "Coffee" theme as a thank you gift; no purchase messages will appear on the keyboard while typing.

【Privacy】
• Your typing, fonts, and learning materials remain on your device; KongBoard will not upload your typing.

• No ads, no account login required; learning materials are not backed up to the cloud.

• The device-side library used for handwriting and translation downloads models and sends usage and performance data (excluding your typed words or handwriting) to its supplier; voice is handled by your chosen voice service.

• Payment is processed by the store; developers only receive order information from the store, not your payment information.

• On-device prompts are off by default; standard prompts are displayed when any non-built-in keyboard is enabled.

【Getting Started】 The first time you open KongBoard, it will guide you through the setup process, which takes about 3 minutes:

1. Enable and select KongBoard (required).

2. Select your preferred input method.

3. Select appearance, spacebar typing style, and privacy settings.

4. Six brief tutorials: Switching to the input method, typing and character selection, spacebar gestures, function bar tools, size and mode, and custom words; these tutorials can be skipped and reviewed later on the settings homepage.

Finally, you will be asked whether to receive device notifications; you can use the app normally even if you don't. You can then complete the setup again in "About & Notes". The app interface is set to Traditional Chinese.
