Shellac Snap is a tool built for 78 people who want to keep organized — say goodbye to typing out artist names, song titles, and catalog numbers by hand! HOW IT WORKS:
Snap a photo of a record label and let our AI read it for you (label, catalog number, artist, and title) instantly, without any of that boring, time-intensive typing. The app then searches Discogs for matching releases, scored and ranked so the right issue surfaces first, even for worn-out, poorly photographed labels. Pick the right one and grade of your copy and the app will automatically add it to your Discogs collection or a fully-customizable spreadsheet. Rinse & repeat and you have a collection cataloged faster than ever possible before!

Grade your records with the VJM standard (P through E+) — how any reasonable 78 collector catalogues — or switch to the Goldmine scale (P through NM) if that's your preference. We (probably) wont judge! Your choice is saved and applied automatically going forward.

MATRIX NUMBERS
We know this is important for many of you! Matrix numbers are pulled from Discogs' own data when possible, or from the photo itself. We give you the (option for the) final say with the option to review and edit before saving.


This does require a free account at Discogs.com (specifically, a Personal Access Token, generated in your Discogs settings) to search releases and (if applicable) manage your collection -- even if not your export method.
