Marchlords

Marchlords is a turn-based tactics game set in a medieval borderland. Move your troops across a grid map, capture villages for gold, recruit new units, and take the enemy castle before they take yours.

Every battle is decided by your choices. There are no dice: before you attack, the game shows exactly how much damage you will deal and how much you will take back.

HOW A BATTLE WORKS
- Blue and Red take turns. On your turn each unit can move once, then attack, capture or wait.
- Infantry and spearmen capture villages. Every building you hold pays gold each day.
- Spend gold at your tent to recruit new units.
- Win by capturing the enemy castle or defeating every enemy unit.

SEVEN UNITS, EACH WITH A JOB
- Infantry: cheap, and they capture buildings.
- Spearmen: stop knights.
- Archers: strike from two tiles away and bring down griffins.
- Knights: fast and hard-hitting.
- Catapults: long range, but they cannot move and fire in the same turn.
- Griffins: fly over rivers and mountains.
- Monks: heal the ally beside them.

Units that defeat an enemy gain ranks and hit harder.

TERRAIN MATTERS
Forests, mountains and buildings protect whoever stands on them. Rivers can only be crossed at bridges, unless you have wings.

COMMANDERS
Choose one of three commanders before a battle. Fighting fills your commander's meter, and when it is full you can unleash a power once: heal your whole army, strike harder for a turn, or march farther.

FOG OF WAR
Some battles are fought in the mist. You only see what your units and buildings see, and walking into a hidden enemy means an ambush.

GAME MODES
- Campaign: 20 missions that grow from small skirmishes to full battles. Earn up to three stars on each by winning quickly.
- Skirmish: a new random map every time, against an Easy, Normal or Hard computer opponent.
- Two players: share one device and take turns.
- Map editor: paint your own battlefields, play them, and share them with friends as a text code.
