Tortuga is a calming space for children to practice speaking at home, in short, playful sessions. It's designed for children aged 4 to 10 who stutter, to be used with an adult.

The turtle isn't in a hurry. That's the whole idea: to speak slowly, without pressure, and without anyone correcting them.

Tortuga complements speech therapy; it doesn't replace it.

ONE SESSION A DAY, LASTING A FEW MINUTES

Each day there's a prepared session that links several exercises, starting calmly and gradually increasing in intensity. You can choose how long it lasts depending on the situation. At the end, the child's garden gains a flower.

FLUENCY EXERCISES IN THE FORM OF A GAME

• The Breeze — take calm breaths before starting, blowing on a dandelion.

• The Echo — the turtle says something slowly, and the child repeats it at their own pace.

• The Drum — Speak rhythmically, following a gentle pulse, syllable by syllable.

• Talk to Me — Say the phrase at the same time as the turtle, without being left alone.

• Tell Me — Speak spontaneously, without pressure. The turtle just listens.

The exercises progress step by step: first words, then phrases, then sentences and mini-stories. Each child progresses at their own pace, and the app doesn't speed them up.

The first two levels of each exercise are free, forever. With a single payment (no subscriptions), you unlock the remaining levels, the daily guided session, and a profile for each child. You can try it thoroughly before deciding.

YOU CAN LISTEN TO YOURSELF

In some exercises, the child can record themselves and listen back, which is usually the part that engages them the most. The recording is saved on the device, is temporary, and can be deleted at any time from the settings.

FOR FAMILIES LIVING WITH STUTTERING

There's a separate section, behind an adult check, with:

• A guide with articles on what helps and what doesn't when your child gets stuck.

• "The Method": what each exercise trains and why it's structured this way.

• Settings: voice speed, session duration, larger text, and a daily reminder at your chosen time.

• A profile for each child, tracking their progress (with each unlock).

WHAT IT IS NOT

Tortuga is a practice and support tool for childhood stuttering. It is NOT a treatment, it does not provide any diagnosis, and it does not replace a speech therapist. If you are concerned about how your child speaks, consult a professional: that's the way forward, and the sooner the better. This app is designed to support that work at home, not to replace it.

PRIVACY

• No accounts or registration: we do not ask for emails or contact information.

• Everything you enter (name, progress, recordings) is saved only on the device.
