About Epub Reader – Syllables, FB2

Epub Reader is a fully offline ebook reader for the books you already own. It opens EPUB, FB2, MOBI, AZW3 and TXT files straight from your device — no account, no ads, no tracking.

The Android build ships without the INTERNET permission. The app is technically unable to open a network connection, so your library, highlights, notes and reading stats never leave your phone.

READING SUPPORT — WHAT MAKES THIS READER DIFFERENT

• Syllable highlighting. Every second syllable is tinted, so long words visibly break into readable chunks. Available in Czech, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
• Reading ruler. A line-focus overlay dims everything except the line you are reading, and follows your finger down the page.
• Easy-reading mode. Wider letter and word spacing, a cream page and bold instead of italics — applied across the whole app, not only the book text.
• Bundled fonts, including a typeface shaped for readers who find ordinary letterforms hard to tell apart.

FORMATS THAT ACTUALLY OPEN

EPUB 2 and EPUB 3, FB2, MOBI, AZW3 and TXT. Non-EPUB files are converted into an internal EPUB container when you import them, so they genuinely open rather than merely appear in a list. Import a single file, a whole folder, or send a book to Epub Reader from any other app with "Open with" or Share. DRM-protected files are recognised and politely declined — this app does not remove DRM.

READ ALOUD

Text-to-speech read-along uses the voice engine already installed on your device. The sentence being spoken is highlighted in its own colour, kept separate from your own highlights. No cloud voices, no audio leaves the device, and a media notification keeps playback going with the screen off.

TYPOGRAPHY AND THEMES

Paged or continuous scrolling. Choose the font, size, line height, margins and alignment. Themes for day, sepia, dark and true black, plus a theme that follows the app.

KEEP WHAT YOU READ

• Four highlight colours, underlines, notes and bookmarks.
• Search inside the open book and across your whole library.
• Export highlights and notes as Markdown, plain text or JSON through the system share sheet.
• Reading statistics, per-book progress, goals and series tracking.
• Local backup archive you can store wherever you like, and restore on a new device.

PRIVACY BY CONSTRUCTION

No account. No sign-in. No advertising. No analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Nothing is uploaded, because on Android the app has no way to upload anything. "Report a problem" only prepares an email in your own mail app, with a local diagnostic log you can read before you send it — and file paths are redacted so your book titles stay private.
