About NATO Phonetic Alphabet
Turn any phrase into NATO, police, or Western Union spelling so you can read it clearly over a radio, phone, or radio check.
Type or paste text and the app spells each letter, digit, and common punctuation as a code word. NATO uses the ICAO forms Alfa and Juliett. Switch to LAPD police (Adam, Boy, Charles) or Western Union (Adams, Boston, New York) when that is the alphabet the other end expects.
Aviation digit readings — Tree, Fower, Fife, Niner — turn on with NATO and off for the civilian alphabets, and you can override the switch. Decode accepts both digit spellings, plus common aliases such as Alpha and Juliet.
Read the line aloud, copy it, or share it from the result card. Save named phrases you use often and look up the full alphabet, including pronunciations for NATO, in the reference table.
