HeatingCostCalc: Winter Fuel

Work out what it costs to heat your home this season. Enter your heating output, running hours, efficiency and fuel price to see daily, monthly and seasonal costs at a glance.

• Natural gas, propane, heating oil, electricity or wood pellets
• Enter output in BTU/h or kW, with AFUE efficiency for burners or COP for electric resistance and heat pumps
• Price fuel per therm, m³, kWh, gallon, litre, ton or kg; changing the unit converts the price
• See the fuel used over the season
• Compare fuels by the cost of each kWh of heat actually delivered
• Price six heating options side by side for the same heat demand: gas, propane, oil, electric resistance, heat pump and pellets
• Estimate the season's heat demand from heating degree-days and your home's heat loss or design load
• See the yearly saving, payback time and 10-year net of replacing your heating system
• Copy the estimate as text
• Save scenarios with notes and reload them to compare different systems
