About Brightwick: Light & Lux Meter

Brightwick is a light meter and lux meter that tells you what the number means. Hold your phone where you read, cook or keep a plant, and see the lux, the target for that place, and a plain verdict like "Good for reading" or "Too dim to read".

HOW IT WORKS
1. Open the app. It starts measuring right away with your phone's light sensor.
2. Pick the place: desk, bedroom, kitchen, kid's room, or one you add with its own target.
3. Tap Save reading, then Save to Desk. Two taps, with an optional note like "old bulb".

ROOM: LUX WITH A MEANING
A big lux number with min, average and max, a foot candle meter with one tap, and a target bar for the place you measure. Typical targets are on screen: bedroom 100 lux, kitchen 300, desk and reading 500, workbench 750. Measure before and after you change a bulb, and History shows how many times brighter or dimmer it got.

LIGHT METER FOR PLANTS AND GROW LIGHTS
Plants mode sorts the light into five zones, from too dark to direct sun. Pick the plants that live in each spot from 24 common ones (monstera, snake plant, pothos, succulents, fiddle-leaf fig, basil and more) and see at a glance which of them get enough light there. Save readings per plant spot, with a photo if you like.
It also works as a simple grow light meter, free: pick the light source (sunlight, white or warm LED, full-spectrum or red-blue grow light, fluorescent) and see PPFD in µmol/m²/s. As a PPFD meter it gives a quick estimate from lux, not a PAR sensor reading.

EXPOSURE METER FOR PHOTOGRAPHY
Photo mode turns your phone into an exposure meter. Point the back camera and tap to move the spot, or use the light sensor as an incident meter at your subject. You get the EV and three linked wheels for aperture, shutter and ISO: lock one, turn another, and the third follows.

NO LIGHT SENSOR? IT STILL WORKS
Many phones have no light sensor, and some light meter apps will not even install on them. Brightwick reads through the front camera instead, clearly labeled "Camera estimate" because it can be off by up to 2x. The camera only reads how bright the picture is: nothing is recorded or saved.

CALIBRATE AGAINST A METER YOU TRUST
Phone sensors differ a lot. Hold your phone next to a light meter you trust, or under a lamp with a known reading, type the value, and Brightwick applies the correction from then on.

FREE AND PRO
Free: lux and foot-candles, min / avg / max, room targets and verdicts, plant zones, PPFD for 6 light sources, EV with the three wheels, one-point calibration, the camera estimate, and your latest 20 saved readings (older ones are kept safe). Brightwick Pro is one payment, not a subscription, and restores on a new phone with the same Google account. It adds the plant daily light estimate (DLI), exposure compensation, ND filters and half stops in Photo mode, multi-point calibration with a separate camera calibration, all saved readings, CSV export, and no ads. You can also try Pro for 24 hours by watching 2 short videos.

WHERE ADS APPEAR
The free version shows a banner in History only. A full-screen ad may appear now and then after you save a reading (not on your first visit), and at most once every 4 hours when you open or come back to the app. Pro has no ads.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. Your readings and places are saved on this phone and never sent to us. Permissions: camera (asked only when you choose the camera estimate or Photo mode), plus the advertising ID, network and billing permissions of Google's ad and purchase libraries. Internet is used for ads, purchases, crash reports and a small settings file from tinyfair.my.id.

Readings are estimates from your phone's sensor or camera, good for comparing rooms and lamps, not a certified instrument.
