About e-Passport NFC reader

Android app that uses the NFC chip to communicate with an electronic passport. It supports action, so third party apps can use it to retrieve passport data. Please visit website for more information.

The app is completely open source, so anyone is welcome to validate that it doesn't collect any personal information. Data is kept only in memory and removed as soon as you close the app. Passport data is never uploaded to any remote server.

App had been successfully tested with Russian passport. It might not work with some other passports. If it doesn't work, please create GitHub issue to help me fix the issue instead of leaving negative feedback.

Great demo app. Works for NZ passport. Navigating between far-out years by tapping year number is easy (as stated by developer). +1 for being open source.

Works fine, and it's open source. Shame to see this many bad reviews when they don't understand how to use this. This could be improved using OCR, but apart from that good job.

Worked for me, US passport. important that it is Open Source so we can review how it works. Doesn't ask for unnecessary permissions. This is a good app! Note: you can tap on the year to change it.

This app works reliably on Australian ePassports, and its chip-reading functionality can be easily integrated into other apps. Great job!
