About Swamp Rabbit Analytics
Swamp Rabbit Analytics builds and operates trail counters for greenways. This is the companion app for the people who use that network — trail managers reviewing their own usage data, and field technicians servicing counters on the ground.
An active Swamp Rabbit Analytics account is required. The app is a client of our platform, not a standalone counter.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Review usage for your sites — counts (observed), visits (estimated), and trips (modeled), each labeled with what it is and how it was produced
• See your counters on a map, with the official trail geometry rendered alongside
• Check fleet health at a glance: which counters are online, which are running low on battery, which need a visit
• Manage sites and corridors, and group counters the way your trail is actually organized
• Configure radar speed displays — message scheduling, speed units, and a live preview of what the panel will show
• Service counters in the field over Bluetooth: diagnostics, clock sync, GNSS fixes, configuration, and firmware updates
HOW WE COUNT
We publish three kinds of numbers and keep them distinct. Counts are what the sensors observed — one person crossing one counter, once. Visits are site totals after merging counters that watch the same spot, so two sensors never count the same person twice. Trips are whole-network journeys from our usage model, always published as a range with its method attached.
Adding a counter sharpens our estimates; it never inflates them. We do not sum every sensor and call the total "trail usage."
FIELD WORK
Technicians use the app's Maintenance Mode to talk to a counter directly over Bluetooth Low Energy — no laptop, no cables. That covers pairing, live serial diagnostics, sensor and power configuration, and pushing firmware to both the counter and its attached speed display.
DATA AND PRIVACY
Our counters use 24 GHz mmWave radar. They detect movement, speed, and direction. They do not record video, images, or audio, and they do not identify individuals. The app requests location permission to center the map on you and to help match counters to sites during field work.
Trail managers own all of their own data.
