Choghadiya Today & Rahu Kaal

Choghadiya today for New Jersey, New York, Chicago, Houston, the Bay Area or anywhere in the US, on your local time. Shubh Samay shows which choghadiya is running right now, when it ends, and when the next auspicious one (Amrit, Shubh or Labh) begins. Rahu Kaal (Rahu Kalam), Yamaganda, Gulika Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat, Brahma Muhurat, sunrise and sunset are on the same screen, for today, tomorrow or any date in the calendar.

WHY SHUBH SAMAY
• Calculated for where you live: a choghadiya worked out for India does not fit New Jersey or California. Sunrise and sunset are computed for your city, and every time is shown on your local clock (Eastern, Central, Pacific…).
• Daylight saving time handled: the switch in March and November is applied for you.
• No ad before the information: the app opens straight on today's timings. No pop-up or full-screen ads; the free version has one small banner at the bottom of the main screen, never on your first day.
• Pro is a one-time purchase. No subscription.
• A free home screen widget that updates itself when each choghadiya ends.
• Works offline: everything is calculated on your phone, no account.

AAJ KA CHOGHADIYA, LIVE
• "Now: Labh choghadiya, ends at 10:42 AM. Next auspicious: Amrit at 10:42 AM."

• Choghadiya calendar: each date's tithi, Purnima and Amavasya marked. Tap any date (Dhanteras, Diwali…) to see its choghadiya and find a shubh muhurat for a puja, a trip or a new start

HOW IT IS CALCULATED
Sunrise and sunset use the NOAA solar equations (Jean Meeus) with the convention of most Indian panchangs: the moment the upper edge of the Sun touches the horizon, with standard refraction. The day and the night are each divided into 8 equal choghadiya in the traditional order starting from the weekday's lord. Rahu, Yamaganda and Gulika Kaal are the traditional eighth of the day for each weekday.

Shubh Samay shows traditional timings for information only and makes no predictions. For important ceremonies, follow your family priest or panchang.
