About Arc Elasticity Calculator
The Arc Elasticity Calculator helps measure the price elasticity of demand or supply over a specific range, using average values rather than point values. It is particularly useful when there is a large change in price or quantity, and you want a more accurate and balanced elasticity measure.
It uses the midpoint formula to avoid bias depending on the direction of change. This calculator requires four inputs: initial and new quantity, and initial and new price. It then returns the arc elasticity value, which shows whether demand or supply is elastic (>1), inelastic (<1), or unitary (=1).
This tool is commonly used in economics, business decision-making, and pricing strategy analysis.
