About Samskritakrida

This gaming app is dedicated to knowledge acquisition of Sanskrit language and its teaching. While developing the 10 games within this app, the nature of the Sanskrit language, the children's language acquisition abilities and interests was kept in mind.

Through this app, children can practice words from 13 categories, such as animals, birds, clothes flowers, food items, fruits, insects, professions, reptiles, sea animals, Tree Intro, Vegetables, Vehicles, by listening, speaking, reading and writing them. The game also provides feedback on correct or incorrect choices. One needs to register with just one’s name and mobile number and then enter the OTP. And start learning Sanskrit while playing!

1. In the first game, after listening to all the words provided along with pictures from various categories, such as animals, birds, clothes, flowers, food items, fruits, insects, professions, reptiles, sea animals, tree intros, vegetables and vehicles, one must then choose the appropriate (correct) name for the given picture.

2. The second game teaches complete word recognition (formation) by making it easier through the use of conjunct letters. After selecting one of the given categories, the learner listens to all the words provided along with pictures and practices carefully matching the sounds with the written words. Then, by choosing from the conjunct letters given below the picture, the learner forms the complete word — this is the process of the game.

3. The third activity is dedicated to pronunciation practice. In this, one is required to listen carefully to the words from the given categories, record them in his/her own voice and then listen back the recording. If the pronunciation is not clear, one need to listen and record again and repeat the process until one learns the correct pronunciation.

4. The next activity is related to practicing correct pronunciation of letters and proper writing order. Listen to the pronunciation of the letters and repeat them. Then, following the correct writing sequence, practice writing the letters with the help of the dotted patterns provided subsequently.

5. The fifth game is related to numbers. A number is displayed at the top of the screen and balloons with different numbers rise from the bottom. Burst the balloons according to the displayed number and earn points.

6. The sixth game (Arrangement of Verb Forms) is a brain game. In this, the forms of 10 verb roots (भू, पठ्, हस्, लिख्, वद्, कृ, खाद्, चल्, पा, धाव्) can be practiced in 5 tenses/moods (लट्, लृट्, लङ्, लोट्, विधिलिङ्). First choose the tense/mood, then select the verb root. Read the correct verb forms carefully and start the game. Drag and drop the correct verb forms into their appropriate places.

7. Awareness about body parts (external organs) is the seventh activity of this app. First, read the names of the organs written in their respective places. Then, based on memory, drag and drop names of all the body parts (organs) to their appropriate positions.

8. This game focuses on strengthening sentence construction practice. It is a three-stage game. In the first two stages one forms sentences by looking at the pictures and dragging and dropping the words into their correct places. In the third stage, one looks at the Picture and choose the correctly related sentence from the given options. Audio support is also available in the game to help with correct pronunciation of words and sentences.

9. This game provides an opportunity to strengthen Sanskrit vocabulary and practice Sanskrit letters and conjunct letters. On one side of a circle, a picture is shown and on the other side, the name of the picture is written. The circle flips after a fixed time. Quickly look at the name and try to remember the spelling. Then begin typing with the help of the keyboard given below.
