Step by Step helps you use your phone less by moving more.

You choose which apps you want to limit (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or others), a schedule, and how many steps are worth a minute. When the time is up, those apps are locked. Walking earns credits. Credits are exchanged for minutes of use. When the time runs out, the lock is reapplied if you're still in that app.

How it detects the app on screen: Step by Step uses the accessibility service only to read the app's package name in the foreground, not the screen content: no text, messages, photos, or buttons. It is not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities. It also requests overlay (to display its own lock), usage access (as a backup), and physical activity (to count steps).

Privacy: Steps, credits, schedules, and the app list stay on your phone. There is no account. There are no ads. No data is sold or sent to a server.

Controls
You can remove apps from the list, change the schedule, pause, disable the system, or revoke permissions. If you revoke permissions, the app will stop locking and counting steps.

Requirements
