About Sage Fold Midway
A quiet paper puzzle built on one idea: a region has to be bigger than one number and smaller than the other.
Every sheet is a grid dotted with numerals. Cut the whole grid into connected regions so that each region holds exactly two numerals and its cell count sits strictly between them. A region carrying 3 and 7 must hold 4, 5 or 6 cells. Never 3, never 7.
HOW IT PLAYS
- Two ways to work, and you can swap between them at any time. Borders: tap the line between two cells to open or close it. Painting: tap a numeral to pick its region, then tap cells to pull them in or push them back out.
- Every region wears a small badge showing its running count and its allowed window, for example 5 | 3-7. The badge turns green the moment the count lands inside the window, and rust when the region overshoots or picks up a third numeral.
- Undo steps back one touch. Nudge closes one whole region for you when a corner has you stuck. Clear wipes the sheet if you would rather start the carve again.
- A quiet clock runs while you work. Finish without a single nudge and the sheet counts toward your clean streak.
THREE SHEET SIZES
- 7 x 7 pocket sheet, for a short sitting.
- 9 x 9 half folio, for a proper session.
- 11 x 11 broadsheet, when you want the long fold.
Each size keeps its own tally of finished sheets and its own best time.
FRESH EVERY TIME
Sheets are not shipped in a fixed list. Each one is grown on your device the moment you ask for it: a random partition, two bracketing numerals per region, then a solver pass that confirms the board really holds together before it reaches you. You will not run out, and you will not meet the same sheet twice.
A FOLIO OF RECORDS
Sheets finished, regions closed, nudges taken, clean runs, best streak and total time at the table, all kept on the device. Twelve quiet pressmarks wait to be earned, from the very first fold to a full hour at the folding table.
QUIET BY DESIGN
- Completely offline. The app holds no internet permission at all, so nothing can be sent anywhere.
- No adverts, no pop-ups, no nagging, no in-app purchases.
- No sound at all. Feedback is colour, shape and an optional buzz, so it is safe to play in a waiting room or beside a sleeping baby.
- No accounts and no sign-in. Your records never leave the phone.
- Sage green, cream and rust on a soft botanical page, every pixel of it drawn from vector shapes rather than images.
Made for people who like a puzzle that stays out of the way. Pick a sheet, find the folds, and watch the badges turn green.
