Variance

No paywalls. No subscriptions. No cloud sync. Just a poker session tracker that respects your data and your wallet.

Variance is a side project from a software engineer who plays poker — not a startup, not a team chasing growth, not something anyone is trying to make a living off of. Every feature is free. To help cover hosting and app store fees, a single short ad appears at most once every six hours, and a $5 tip from the About screen removes ads entirely. That's the whole model.

WHAT YOU CAN TRACK
* Cash games and tournaments — NLH, PLO, mixed, and custom variants
* Live session timer with running clock, pause/resume for breaks, optional stack-check reminders
* Mid-session add-ons, rebuys, and a promo log for high hands, splash pots, and jackpots
* Stakes, location, notes, tags
* Mid-session mood check-ins to surface tilt patterns
* Stop-loss and stop-win targets you can set before sitting down
* One-tap session start from saved templates

THE STATS
* Net profit, hourly rate, hours played, and win rate at a glance
* Cumulative profit sparkline so you can see the trajectory
* Best night, worst night, and longest session called out
* Filter by last 7 days, 30 days, year to date, or by cash/tournament
* Drill-downs by location and by day-and-time of week (heatmap)
* Discipline view — stop-loss adherence and mood breakdown
* Bankroll view with a move-up tracker against the 20 buy-in rule
* Tournament view with ROI, ITM rate, and average finish position
* Dual P&L — poker result and promo income tracked separately

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
Variance is local-first. No account. No login. No cloud sync. No analytics SDK.

All of your data is stored only on your phone — Variance doesn't run any servers because it doesn't need any. The trade-off worth knowing: if you delete the app, your sessions go with it. There's no copy on a server for us to send back. Data export and backup capabilities are on the roadmap.

FEEDBACK
Bug reports, feature requests, and "this thing is annoying" notes are welcome through the in-app Feedback form — it goes straight to the developer.
