Sunday Painter: Coloring Book

Most coloring apps fill a shape with flat color the moment you tap it. Sunday Painter lets you actually paint.

Pick a page, load a brush and put watercolor wherever you like. The line art stays crisp on top, so the picture still reads well when your color runs past an edge. You can be loose and it still looks good.

Paint that behaves like watercolor
Colors layer the way real glazes do. Yellow under blue turns green, a second pass goes deeper, and nothing gets lighter by painting over it. The paint stays wet for a moment after you lift the brush, bleeds into what is still damp and dries with a darker edge.

Four papers, five brushes
Cold press, rough, hot press and a warm tinted sheet, and each one changes how a wash settles. A wide wash brush for skies, a round brush for everything, a dry brush that catches only the top of the paper, a fine liner for stems and whiskers, and clean water to soften and lift what is already there.

Stylus or finger
With a stylus, pressure changes the width and the amount of pigment, and tilting turns the brush on its side. Fingers work fine too. Two fingers pan and zoom, a two finger tap undoes, a three finger tap brings it back.

One tap fill
Tap a shape and it fills with a soft wash that pools along its edges, then go back in by hand wherever you want more.

28 drawn pages in five collections
Cosy rooms with the lamp already on, wide calm landscapes, plants and pots, sleeping animals, and mandalas to empty your head. On a phone the pages are drawn tall to fill the screen, with shapes big enough for a fingertip.

Built to slow you down
No timers, no streaks, no daily goals. No ads, no account, and it all works offline. Your paintings save on their own and wait for you, and a finished one goes straight to your photos or to a friend.
