Take a rugby club and make it yours. Pick the XV, sign the players, set the plan, and answer for all of it on Saturday. PHASE: Rugby Manager is a rugby union manager in the old text-sim tradition: dense squad tables, a real decision most days, and a career that remembers season one when you get to season fifteen.

Release a player and they may come back to score against you. Break a promise and the agent wants more. Bring a teenager through the academy and they may captain the side.

TWO GAMES, ONE APP
• The men's game: nine leagues and 107 clubs across England, France, the United Provinces, the Pacific, Japan and the United States, from the top flight down to National One.
• The women's game, built the same way rather than bolted on: six leagues and 64 clubs across England, France, the Pacific and the Celtic provinces, with its own continental cup, Test calendar and career challenges.

THE WORLD
Cup draws made in front of you, continental rugby, play-offs, and promotion and relegation in the men's game. An international calendar takes your best players at the worst moment, and if your name gets about, a national job may follow. Rival clubs bid for the players you want and sack their coaches when it goes wrong.

THE WEEK
Monday is the review. Tuesday, the cameras and the board. Wednesday, club business. Thursday, the squad. Friday, the opposition report. Then Saturday.
• Agents who haggle, contracts that run down, free agents, and scouts who tell you what they know and what they don't.
• Summer and January windows. Loans by length and wage share, and a parent club that tells you why it said no.
• Release a player, sack a coach, name two marquee players and work the cap.
• Facilities to build, sponsors to deal with, a board with an opinion of you, a press pack that remembers your promises, and supporters who remember a derby longer than the table does.

MATCH DAY
Live text commentary and stats, with the pitch for the tries and big moments. Or take the instant result and read why it went that way.
• The calls are yours: the posts, the corner or the quick tap; the team talks; when to empty the bench.
• Five attack and five defence styles, set-piece calls, a kicking game, and a playbook the opposition learns to read.
• Afterwards the coach names two things to fix, then checks next week whether you did.

THE RECORD
Every player carries their last ten ratings and their injury history, so you can tell a slump from a bad week. A trophy cabinet, a Hall of Fame and a Roll of Honour outlast any one job.

NEW TO RUGBY?
