PETIOLE PRO LIMITATIONS
Petiole Pro has several limitations. Highly ruffled leaves create more shadows and are difficult to flatten without overlap, leading to underestimates of leaf area. Poor quality light and extensive shadows make it difficult to clearly segment the leaf or seed, leading to less accurate measurements. All of the above limitations hold for other image processing software including ImageJ and BioLeaf.
